| Isaiah 57:1 | The upright man goes to his death, and no one gives a thought to it; and god-fearing men are taken away, and no one is troubled by it; for the upright man is taken away because of evil-doing, and goes into peace. | The righteous hath perished, And there is none laying [it] to heart, And men of kindness are gathered, Without any considering that from the face of evil Gathered is the righteous one. | The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. | The just perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart, and men of mercy are taken away, because there is none that understandeth; for the just man is taken away from before the face of evil. |
| Isaiah 57:2 | They are at rest in their last resting-places, every one going straight before him. | He entereth into peace, they rest on their beds, [Each] is going straightforward. | He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. | Let peace come, let him rest in his bed that hath walked in his uprightness. |
| Isaiah 57:3 | But come near, you sons of her who is wise in secret arts, the seed of her who is false to her husband, and of the loose woman. | And ye, come near hither, O sons of a sorceress, seed of an adulterer, Even thou dost commit whoredom. | But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the lewd. | But draw near hither, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer, and of the harlot. |
| Isaiah 57:4 | Of whom do you make sport? against whom is your mouth open wide and your tongue put out? are you not uncontrolled children, a false seed, | Against whom do ye sport yourselves? Against whom enlarge ye the mouth? Prolong ye the tongue? Are not ye children of transgression? a false seed? | Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and thrust out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood, | Upon whom have you jested? upon whom have you opened your mouth wide, and put out your tongue? are not you wicked children, a false seed, |
| Isaiah 57:5 | You who are burning with evil desire among the oaks, under every green tree; putting children to death in the valleys, under the cracks of the rocks? | Who are inflamed among oaks, under every green tree, Slaughtering the children in valleys, Under clefts of the rocks. | Inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the cliffs of the rocks? | Who seek your comfort in idols under every green tree, sacrificing children in the torrents, under the high rocks? |
| Isaiah 57:6 | Among the smooth stones of the valley is your heritage; they, even they, are your part: even to them have you made a drink offering and a meal offering. Is it possible for such things to be overlooked by me? | Among the smooth things of a brook [is] thy portion, They they [are] thy lot, Also to them thou hast poured out an oblation, Thou hast caused a present to ascend, For these things am I comforted? | Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink-offering, thou hast offered a meat-offering. Should I receive comfort in these? | In the parts of the torrent is thy portion, this is thy lot: and thou hast poured out libations to them, thou hast offered sacrifice. Shall I not be angry at these things? |
| Isaiah 57:7 | You have put your bed on a high mountain: there you went up to make your offering. | On a mountain, high and exalted, Thou hast set thy couch, Also thither thou hast gone up to make a sacrifice. | Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither thou wentest up to offer sacrifice. | Upon a high and lofty mountain thou hast laid thy bed, and hast gone up thither to offer victims. |
| Isaiah 57:8 | And on the back of the doors and on the pillars you have put your sign: for you have been false to me with another; you have made your bed wide, and made an agreement with them; you had a desire for their bed where you saw it | And behind the door, and the post, Thou hast set up thy memorial, For from Me thou hast removed, and goest up, Thou hast enlarged thy couch, And dost covenant for thyself among them, Thou hast loved their couch, the station thou sawest, | Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast uncovered thyself to another than me, and hast gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it. | And behind the door, and behind the post thou best set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself near me, and hast received an adulterer: thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made a covenant with them: thou hast loved their bed with open hand. |
| Isaiah 57:9 | And you went to Melech with oil and much perfume, and you sent your representatives far off, and went as low as the underworld. | And goest joyfully to the king in ointment, And dost multiply thy perfumes, And sendest thine ambassadors afar off, And humblest thyself unto Sheol. | And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even to hell. | And thou hast adorned thyself for the king with ointment, and hast multiplied thy perfumes. Thou hast sent thy messengers far off, and wast debased even to hell. |
| Isaiah 57:10 | You were tired with your long journeys; but you did not say, There is no hope: you got new strength, and so you were not feeble. | In the greatness of thy way thou hast laboured, Thou hast not said, `It is desperate.` The life of thy hand thou hast found, Therefore thou hast not been sick. | Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thy hand; therefore thou wast not grieved. | Thou hast been wearied in the multitude of thy ways: yet thou saidst not: I will rest: thou hast found life of thy hand, therefore thou hast not asked. |
| Isaiah 57:11 | And of whom were you in fear, so that you were false, and did not keep me in mind, or give thought to it? Have I not been quiet, keeping myself secret, and so you were not in fear of me? | And of whom hast thou been afraid, and fearest, That thou liest, and Me hast not remembered? Thou hast not laid [it] to thy heart, Am not I silent, even from of old? And Me thou fearest not? | And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not? | For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied, and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? for I am silent, and as one that seeth not, and thou hast forgotten me. |
| Isaiah 57:12 | I will make clear what your righteousness is like and your works; you will have no profit in them. | I declare thy righteousness, and thy works, And they do not profit thee. | I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee. | I will declare thy justice, and thy works shall not profit thee. |
| Isaiah 57:13 | Your false gods will not keep you safe in answer to your cry; but the wind will take them, they will be gone like a breath: but he who puts his hope in me will take the land, and will have my holy mountain as his heritage. | When thou criest, let thy gatherings deliver thee, And all of them carry away doth wind, Take away doth vanity, And whoso is trusting in Me inheriteth the land, And doth possess My holy mountain. | When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain; | When thou shalt cry, let thy companies deliver thee, but the wind shall carry them all off, a breeze shall take them away, but he that putteth his trust in me, shall inherit the land, and shall possess my holy mount. |
| Isaiah 57:14 | And I will say, Make it high, make it high, get ready the way, take the stones out of the way of my people. | And he hath said, `Raise up, raise up, prepare a way, Lift a stumbling-block out of the way of My people.` | And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people. | And I will say: Make a way: give free passage, turn out of the path, take away the stumblingblocks out of the way of my people. |
| Isaiah 57:15 | For this is the word of him who is high and lifted up, whose resting-place is eternal, whose name is Holy: my resting-place is in the high and holy place, and with him who is crushed and poor in spirit, to give life to the spirit of the poor, and to make strong the heart of the crushed. | For thus said the high and exalted One, Inhabiting eternity, and holy [is] His name: `In the high and holy place I dwell, And with the bruised and humble of spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of bruised ones,` | For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. | For thus saith the High and the Eminent that inhabiteth eternity: and his name is Holy, who dwelleth in the high and holy place, and with a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. |
| Isaiah 57:16 | For I will not give punishment for ever, or be angry without end: for from me breath goes out; and I it was who made the souls. | For, not to the age do I strive, nor for ever am I wroth, For the spirit from before Me is feeble, And the souls I have made. | For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls which I have made. | For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be angry unto the end: because the spirit shall go forth from my face, end breathings I will make. |
| Isaiah 57:17 | I was quickly angry with his evil ways, and sent punishment on him, veiling my face in wrath: and he went on, turning his heart from me. | For the iniquity of his dishonest gain, I have been wroth, and I smite him, Hiding and am wroth, And he goeth on turning back in the way of his heart. | For the iniquity of his covetousness I was wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. | For the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry, and I struck him: I hid my face from thee, and was angry: and he went away wandering in his own heart. |
| Isaiah 57:18 | I have seen his ways, and I will make him well: I will give him rest, comforting him and his people who are sad. | His ways I have seen, and I heal him, yea, I lead him, And recompense comforts to him and to his mourning ones. | I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners. | I saw his ways, and I healed him, and brought him back, and restored comforts to him, and to them that mourn for him. |
| Isaiah 57:19 | I will give the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is near and to him who is far off, says the Lord; and I will make him well. | Producing the fruit of the lips, `Peace, peace,` to the far off, and to the near, And I have healed him, said Jehovah. | I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him. | I created the fruit of the lips, peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, said the Lord, and I healed him. |
| Isaiah 57:20 | But the evil-doers are like the troubled sea, for which there is no rest, and its waters send up earth and waste. | And the wicked [are] as the driven out sea, For to rest it is not able, And its waters cast out filth and mire. | But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. | But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire. |
| Isaiah 57:21 | There is no peace, says my God, for the evil-doers. | There is no peace, said my God, to the wicked! | There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. | There is no peace to the wicked, saith the Lord God. |
