| Psalms 38:1 | {A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.} Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. | O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. | <A Psalm. Of David. To keep in memory.> O Lord, be not bitter with me in your wrath; let not your hand be on me in the heat of your passion. | A Psalm of David, `To cause to remember.` Jehovah, in Thy wrath reprove me not, Nor in Thy fury chastise me. |
| Psalms 38:2 | For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand cometh down upon me. | For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore. | For your arrows have gone into my flesh, and I am crushed under the weight of your hand. | For Thine arrows have come down on me, And Thou lettest down upon me Thy hand. |
