Psalms 62:1{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation. My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation. <To the chief music-maker. After Jeduthun. A Psalm. Of David.> My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation. To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God [is] my soul silent, From Him [is] my salvation.
Psalms 62:2He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.Only He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved.
Psalms 62:3How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence? How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling?Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down.
Psalms 62:4They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah. They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.)Only from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.
Psalms 62:5Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him. My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my hope.Only for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him [is] my hope.
Psalms 62:6He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved. He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be moved. He only is my Rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.Only He [is] my rock and my salvation, My tower, I am not moved.
Psalms 62:7With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. In God is my salvation, and my glory; the Rock of my strength, and my safe place. On God [is] my salvation, and my honour, The rock of my strength, my refuge [is] in God.
Psalms 62:8Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah Have faith in him at all times, you people; let your hearts go flowing out before him: God is our safe place. (Selah.)Trust in Him at all times, O people, Pour forth before Him your heart, God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalms 62:9Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity. Truly men of low birth are nothing, and men of high position are not what they seem; if they are put in the scales together they are less than a breath.Only vanity [are] the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity [are] lighter.
Psalms 62:10Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon]. Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth when it increaseth set not the heart.
Psalms 62:11Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God. Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God's:Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.`
Psalms 62:12And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work. And with Thee, O Lord, [is] kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each, According to his work!
