Job 7:1Hath not man a life of labour upon earth? and are not his days like the days of a hireling? Is there not a warfare to man upon earth? And are not his days like the days of a hireling? "Isn't a man forced to labor on earth? Aren't his days like the days of a hired hand? The life of man upon earth is a warfare, and his days are like the days of a hireling.
Job 7:2As a bondman earnestly desireth the shadow, and a hireling expecteth his wages,As a servant that earnestly desireth the shadow, And as a hireling that looketh for his wages: As a servant who earnestly desires the shadow, As a hireling who looks for his wages,As a servant longeth for the shade, as the hireling looketh for the end of his work;
Job 7:3So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.So am I made to possess months of misery, And wearisome nights are appointed to me. So am I made to possess months of misery, Wearisome nights are appointed to me.So I also have had empty months, and have numbered to myself wearisome nights.
Job 7:4If I lie down, I say, When shall I rise up, and the darkness be gone? and I am full of tossings until the dawn. When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? And I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day. When I lie down, I say, 'When shall I arise, and the night be gone?' I toss and turn until the dawning of the day.If I lie down to sleep, I shall say: When shall arise? and again I shall look for the evening, and shall be filled with sorrows even till darkness.
Job 7:5My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and suppurates. My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; My skin closeth up, and breaketh out afresh. My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust. My skin closes up, and breaks out afresh. My flesh is clothed with rottenness and the filth of dust, my skin is withered and drawn together.
Job 7:6My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, And are spent without hope. My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, And are spent without hope.My days have passed more swiftly than the web is cut by the weaver, and are consumed without any hope.
Job 7:7Remember thou that my life is wind; mine eye shall no more see good.Oh remember that my life is a breath: Mine eye shall no more see good. Oh remember that my life is a breath. My eye shall no more see good.Remember that my life is but wind, and my eyes shall not return to see good things.
Job 7:8The eye of him that hath seen me shall behold me no [more]: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not.The eye of him that seeth me shall behold me no more; Thine eyes shall be upon me, but I shall not be. The eye of him who sees me shall see me no more. Your eyes shall be on me, but I shall not be.Nor shall the sight of man behold me: thy eyes are upon me, and I shall be no more.
Job 7:9The cloud consumeth and vanisheth away; so he that goeth down to Sheol shall not come up.As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, So he that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more. As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away, So he who goes down to Sheol shall come up no more.As a cloud is consumed, and passeth away: so he that shall go down to hell shall not come up.
Job 7:10He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him again. He shall return no more to his house, Neither shall his place know him any more. He shall return no more to his house, Neither shall his place know him any more.Nor shall he return my more into his house, neither shall his place know him any more.
Job 7:11Therefore I will not restrain my mouth: I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. "Therefore I will not keep silent. I will speak in the anguish of my spirit. I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.Wherefore I will not spare my month, I will speak in the affliction of my spirit: I will talk with the bitterness of my soul.
Job 7:12Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, that thou settest a watch over me?Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, That thou settest a watch over me? Am I a sea, or a sea-monster, That you put a guard over me?Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou hast enclosed me in a prison?
Job 7:13When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint; When I say, My bed shall comfort me, My couch shall ease my complaint; When I say, 'My bed shall comfort me, My couch shall ease my complaint;'If I say: My bed shall comfort me, and I shall be relieved speaking with myself on my couch:
Job 7:14Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions; Then thou scarest me with dreams, And terrifiest me through visions: Then you scar me with dreams, And terrify me through visions:Thou wilt frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions.
Job 7:15So that my soul chooseth strangling, death, rather than my bones. So that my soul chooseth strangling, And death rather than [these] my bones. So that my soul chooses strangling, Death rather than my bones. So that my soul rather chooseth hanging, and my bones death.
Job 7:16I loathe it; I shall not live always: let me alone, for my days are a breath.I loathe [my life]; I would not live alway: Let me alone; for my days are vanity. I loathe my life. I don't want to live forever. Leave me alone; for my days are but a breath.I have done with hope, I shall now live no longer: spare me, for my days are nothing.
Job 7:17What is man, that thou makest much of him? and that thou settest thy heart upon him? What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him, And that thou shouldest set thy mind upon him, What is man, that you should magnify him, That you should set your mind on him,What is a man that thou shouldst magnify him? or why dost thou set thy heart upon him?
Job 7:18And that thou visitest him every morning, triest him every moment? And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, And try him every moment? That you should visit him every morning, And test him every moment?Thou visitest him early in the morning, and thou provest him suddenly.
Job 7:19How long wilt thou not look away from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle? How long wilt thou not look away from me, Nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle? How long will you not look away from me, Nor leave me alone until I swallow down my spittle? How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?
Job 7:20Have I sinned, what do I unto thee, thou Observer of men? Why hast thou set me as an object of assault for thee, so that I am become a burden to myself? If I have sinned, what do I unto thee, O thou watcher of men? Why hast thou set me as a mark for thee, So that I am a burden to myself? If I have sinned, what do I do to you, you watcher of men? Why have you set me as a mark for you, So that I am a burden to myself?I have sinned: what shall I do to thee, O keeper of men? why hast thou set me opposite to thee, and I am become burdensome to myself?
Job 7:21And why dost not thou forgive my transgression and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I lie down in the dust, and thou shalt seek me early, and I shall not be.And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust; And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be. Why do you not pardon my disobedience, and take away my iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust. You will seek me diligently, but I shall not be."Why dost thou not remove my sin, and why dost thou not take away my iniquity? Behold now I shall sleep in the dust: and if thou seek me in the morning, I shall not be.
