| Psalms 61:1 | {To the chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David.} Hear, O God, my cry; attend unto my prayer. | <To the chief music-maker. On a corded instrument. Of David.> Let my cry come to you, O God; let your ears be open to my prayer. | Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David. | To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. |
| Psalms 61:2 | From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt lead me on to a rock which is too high for me. | From the end of the earth will I send up my cry to you, when my heart is overcome: take me to the rock which is over-high for me. | Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation. | From the end of the earth will I cry to thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. |
| Psalms 61:3 | For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy. | For you have been my secret place, and my high tower from those who made war on me. | For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more. | For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. |
| Psalms 61:4 | I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. Selah. | I will make your tent my resting-place for ever: I will keep myself under the cover of your wings. (Selah.) | How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence. | I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. |
| Psalms 61:5 | For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that fear thy name. | For you, O God, have made answer to my prayers; you have given me the heritage of those who give honour to your name. | But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart. | For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name. |
| Psalms 61:6 | Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations. | You will give the king long life; and make his years go on through the generations. | But be thou, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience. | Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations. |
| Psalms 61:7 | He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may preserve him. | May the seat of his authority be before God for ever; may mercy and righteousness keep him safe. | For he is my God and my saviour: he is my helper, I shall not be moved. | He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. |
| Psalms 61:8 | So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day. | So will I make songs in praise of your name for ever, giving to God that which is right day by day. | In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God. | So will I sing praise to thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows. |
