Psalms 8:1{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.<To the chief music-maker on the Gittith. A Psalm. Of David.> O Lord, our Lord, whose glory is higher than the heavens, how noble is your name in all the earth!Unto the end, for the presses: a psalm of David.
Psalms 8:2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established praise because of thine adversaries, to still the enemy and the avenger. You have made clear your strength even out of the mouths of babies at the breast, because of those who are against you; so that you may put to shame the cruel and violent man.O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in the whole earth! For thy magnificence is elevated above the heavens.
Psalms 8:3When I see thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast established; When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have put in their places;Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise, because of thy enemies, that thou mayst destroy the enemy and the avenger.
Psalms 8:4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account? For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers: the moon and the stars which thou hast founded.
Psalms 8:5Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and splendour. For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour. What is man that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest hi?
Psalms 8:6Thou hast made him to rule over the works of thy hands; thou hast put everything under his feet:You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet;Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour:
Psalms 8:7Sheep and oxen, all of them, and also the beasts of the field; All sheep and oxen, and all the beasts of the field;and hast set him over the works of thy hands.
Psalms 8:8The fowl of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, [whatever] passeth through the paths of the seas. The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and whatever goes through the deep waters of the seas.Thou hast subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen: moreover the beasts also of the fields.
Psalms 8:9Jehovah our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!O Lord, our Lord, how noble is your name in all the earth! The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, that pass through the paths of the sea.
