1st-Corinthians 11:1Be my imitators, even as *I* also [am] of Christ. So take me for your example, even as I take Christ for mine.Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.Be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ.
1st-Corinthians 11:2Now I praise you, that in all things ye are mindful of me; and that as I have directed you, ye keep the directions. Now I am pleased to see that you keep me in memory in all things, and that you give attention to the teaching which was handed down from me to you.Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.Now I praise you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me: and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you.
1st-Corinthians 11:3But I wish you to know that the Christ is the head of every man, but woman's head [is] the man, and the Christ's head God.But it is important for you to keep this fact in mind, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1st-Corinthians 11:4Every man praying or prophesying, having [anything] on his head, puts his head to shame.Every man who takes part in prayer, or gives teaching as a prophet, with his head covered, puts shame on his head.Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, disgraceth his head.
1st-Corinthians 11:5But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered puts her own head to shame; for it is one and the same as a shaved [woman].But every woman who does so with her head unveiled, puts shame on her head: for it is the same as if her hair was cut off.But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved. But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.
1st-Corinthians 11:6For if a woman be not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if [it be] shameful to a woman to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, let her be covered. For if a woman is not veiled, let her hair be cut off; but if it is a shame to a woman to have her hair cut off, let her be veiled. For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered. For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn. But if it be a shame to a woman to be shorn or made bald, let her cover her head.
1st-Corinthians 11:7For man indeed ought not to have his head covered, being God's image and glory; but woman is man's glory. For it is not right for a man to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.
1st-Corinthians 11:8For man is not of woman, but woman of man.For the man did not come from the woman, but the woman from the man.For man is not from woman, but woman from man;For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.
1st-Corinthians 11:9For also man was not created for the sake of the woman, but woman for the sake of the man.And the man was not made for the woman, but the woman for the man.for neither was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.For the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man.
1st-Corinthians 11:10Therefore ought the woman to have authority on her head, on account of the angels. For this reason it is right for the woman to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. For this cause the woman ought to have authority on her head, because of the angels. Therefore ought the woman to have a power over her head, because of the angels.
1st-Corinthians 11:11However, neither [is] woman without man, nor man without woman, in [the] Lord. But the woman is not separate from the man, and the man is not separate from the woman in the Lord.Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord. But yet neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord.
1st-Corinthians 11:12For as the woman [is] of the man, so also [is] the man by the woman, but all things of God.For as the woman is from the man, so the man is through the woman; but all things are from God.For as the woman is from the man, so is the man also by the woman; but all things are from God.For as the woman is of the man, so also is the man by the woman: but all things of God.
1st-Corinthians 11:13Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman should pray to God uncovered?Be judges yourselves of the question: does it seem right for a woman to take part in prayer unveiled?Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled? You yourselves judge: doth it become a woman, to pray unto God uncovered?
1st-Corinthians 11:14Does not even nature itself teach you, that man, if he have long hair, it is a dishonour to him?Does it not seem natural to you that if a man has long hair, it is a cause of shame to him?Doesn't even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?Doth not even nature itself teach you, that a man indeed, if he nourish his hair, it is a shame unto him?
1st-Corinthians 11:15But woman, if she have long hair, [it is] glory to her; for the long hair is given [to her] in lieu of a veil. But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given to her for a covering. But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering. But if a woman nourish her hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.
1st-Corinthians 11:16But if any one think to be contentious, *we* have no such custom, nor the assemblies of God.But if any man will not be ruled in this question, this is not our way of doing things, and it is not done in the churches of God.But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God's assemblies. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor the church of God.
1st-Corinthians 11:17But [in] prescribing [to you on] this [which I now enter on], I do not praise, [namely,] that ye come together, not for the better, but for the worse. But in giving you this order, there is one thing about which I am not pleased: it is that when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse. But in giving you this command, I don't praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse. Now this I ordain: not praising you, that you come together not for the better, but for the worse.
1st-Corinthians 11:18For first, when ye come together in assembly, I hear there exist divisions among you, and I partly give credit [to it].For first of all, it has come to my ears that when you come together in the church, there are divisions among you, and I take the statement to be true in part. For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.For first of all I hear that when you come together in the church, there are schisms among you; and in part I believe it.
1st-Corinthians 11:19For there must also be sects among you, that the approved may become manifest among you.For divisions are necessary among you, in order that those who have God's approval may be clearly seen among you.For there must be also factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.For there must be also heresies: that they also, who are approved, may be made manifest among you.
1st-Corinthians 11:20When ye come therefore together into one place, it is not to eat [the] Lord's supper. But now, when you come together, it is not possible to take the holy meal of the Lord:When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not possible to eat the Lord's supper. When you come therefore together into one place, it is not now to eat the Lord's supper.
1st-Corinthians 11:21For each one in eating takes his *own* supper before [others], and one is hungry and another drinks to excess. For when you take your food, everyone takes his meal before the other; and one has not enough food, and another is the worse for drink. For in your eating each one takes his own supper before others. One is hungry, and another is drunken. For every one taketh before his own supper to eat. And one indeed is hungry and another is drunk.
1st-Corinthians 11:22Have ye not then houses for eating and drinking? or do ye despise the assembly of God, and put to shame them who have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you? In this [point] I do not praise. What? have you not houses to take your meals in? or have you no respect for the church of God, putting the poor to shame? What am I to say to you? am I to give you praise? certainly not. What, don't you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God's assembly, and put them to shame who don't have? What will I tell you? Will I praise you? In this I don't praise you. What, have you not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the church of God; and put them to shame that have not ? What shall I say to you? Do I praise you? In this I praise you not.
1st-Corinthians 11:23For *I* received from the Lord, that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread,For it was handed down to me from the Lord, as I gave it to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when Judas was false to him, took bread,For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread. For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread.
1st-Corinthians 11:24and having given thanks broke [it], and said, This is my body, which [is] for you: this do in remembrance of me.And when it had been broken with an act of praise, he said, This is my body which is for you: do this in memory of me.When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me."And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me.
1st-Corinthians 11:25In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye shall drink [it], in remembrance of me.In the same way, with the cup, after the meal, he said, This cup is the new testament in my blood: do this, whenever you take it, in memory of me.In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me."In like manner also the chalice, after he had supped, saying: This chalice is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you shall drink, for the commemoration of me.
1st-Corinthians 11:26For as often as ye shall eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye announce the death of the Lord, until he come. For whenever you take the bread and the cup you give witness to the Lord's death till he comes. For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. For as often as you shall eat this bread, and drink the chalice, you shall shew the death of the Lord, until he come.
1st-Corinthians 11:27So that whosoever shall eat the bread, or drink the cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty in respect of the body and of the blood of the Lord. If, then, anyone takes the bread or the cup of the Lord in the wrong spirit, he will be responsible for the body and blood of the Lord. Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in an unworthy manner, will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
1st-Corinthians 11:28But let a man prove himself, and thus eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.But let no man take of the bread and the cup without testing himself. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice.
1st-Corinthians 11:29For [the] eater and drinker eats and drinks judgment to himself, not distinguishing the body. For a man puts himself in danger, if he takes part in the holy meal without being conscious that it is the Lord's body. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn't discern the Lord's body. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.
1st-Corinthians 11:30On this account many among you [are] weak and infirm, and a good many are fallen asleep. For this cause a number of you are feeble and ill, and a number are dead. For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. Therefore are there many inform and weak among you, and many sleep.
1st-Corinthians 11:31But if we judged ourselves, so were we not judged. But if we were true judges of ourselves, punishment would not come on us.For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn't be judged. But if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1st-Corinthians 11:32But being judged, we are disciplined of [the] Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. But if punishment does come, it is sent by the Lord, so that we may be safe when the world is judged. But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. But whilst we are judged, we are chastised by the Lord, that we be not condemned with this world.
1st-Corinthians 11:33So that, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait for one another. So then, my brothers, when you come together to the holy meal of the Lord, let there be waiting for one another. Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait one for another.Wherefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
1st-Corinthians 11:34If any one be hungry, let him eat at home, that ye may not come together for judgment. But the other things, whenever I come, I will set in order. If any man is in need of food, let him take his meal in his house; so that you may not come together to your damage. And the rest I will put in order when I come. But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, that your coming together may not be to judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.If any man be hungry, let him eat at home; that you come not together unto judgment. And the rest I will set in order, when I come.
