| Proverbs 16:1 | The purposes of the heart are of man, but the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah. | The designs of the heart are man's, but the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord. | The plans of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh. | Of man [are] arrangements of the heart, And from Jehovah an answer of the tongue. |
| Proverbs 16:2 | All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but Jehovah weigheth the spirits. | All a man's ways are clean to himself; but the Lord puts men's spirits into his scales. | All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; But Yahweh weighs the motives. | All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering the spirits. |
