Psalms 89:1{An instruction. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.} I will sing of the loving-kindness of Jehovah for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness from generation to generation.<Maschil. Of Ethan the Ezrahite.> My song will be of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make his faith clear to all generations.An instruction, by Ethan the Ezrahite. Of the kind acts of Jehovah, to the age I sing, To all generations I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth,A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.
Psalms 89:2For I said, Loving-kindness shall be built up for ever; in the very heavens wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.For you have said, Mercy will be made strong for ever; my faith will be unchanging in the heavens.For I said, `To the age is kindness built, The heavens! Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness in them.`Before the mountains were made, or the earth and the world was formed; from eternity and to eternity thou art God.
Psalms 89:3I have made a covenant with mine elect, I have sworn unto David my servant:I have made an agreement with the man of my selection, I have made an oath to David my servant;I have made a covenant for My chosen, I have sworn to David My servant:Turn not man away to be brought low: and thou hast said: Be converted, O ye sons of men.
Psalms 89:4Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne from generation to generation. Selah.I will make your seed go on for ever, your kingdom will be strong through all generations. (Selah.)`Even to the age do I establish thy seed, And have built to generation and generation thy throne. Selah.For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,
Psalms 89:5And the heavens shall celebrate thy wonders, O Jehovah, and thy faithfulness in the congregation of the saints.In heaven let them give praise for your wonders, O Lord; and your unchanging faith among the saints.and the heavens confess Thy wonders, O Jehovah, Thy faithfulness also [is] in an assembly of holy ones.things that are counted nothing, shall their years be.
Psalms 89:6For who in the heaven can be compared to Jehovah? [who] among the sons of the mighty shall be likened to Jehovah?For who is there in the heavens in comparison with the Lord? who is like the Lord among the sons of the gods?For who in the sky, Compareth himself to Jehovah? Is like to Jehovah among sons of the mighty?In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.
Psalms 89:7ùGod is greatly to be feared in the council of the saints, and terrible for all that are round about him.God is greatly to be feared among the saints, and to be honoured over all those who are about him.God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.
Psalms 89:8Jehovah, God of hosts, who is like unto thee, the strong Jah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.O Lord God of armies, who is strong like you, O Jah? and your unchanging faith is round about you.O Jehovah, God of Hosts, Who [is] like Thee a strong Jah? And Thy faithfulness [is] round about Thee.Thou hast set our iniquities before thy eyes: our life in the light of thy countenance.
Psalms 89:9*Thou* rulest the pride of the sea: when its waves arise, *thou* stillest them.You have rule over the sea in storm; when its waves are troubled, you make them calm.Thou [art] ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.For all our days are spent; and in thy wrath we have fainted away. Our years shall be considered spider:
Psalms 89:10Thou hast crushed Rahab as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.Rahab was crushed by you like one wounded to death; with your strong arm you put to flight all your haters.Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.the days of our years in them are threescore and ten years. But if in the strong they be fourscore years: and what is more of them is labour and sorrow. For mildness is come upon us: and we shall be corrected.
Psalms 89:11Thine are the heavens, the earth also is thine; the world and its fulness, *thou* hast founded them.Yours are the heavens, and the earth is yours; you have made the world, and everything which is in it.Thine [are] the heavens the earth also [is] Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.Who knoweth the power of thy anger, and for thy fear
Psalms 89:12The north and the south, *thou* hast created them: Tabor and Hermon triumph in thy name.You have made the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon are sounding with joy at your name.North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.can number thy wrath? So make thy right hand known: and men learned in heart, in wisdom.
Psalms 89:13Thine is the arm of might: strong is thy hand, high is thy right hand.Yours is an arm of power; strong is your hand and high your right hand.Thou hast an arm with might, Strong is Thy hand high Thy right hand.Return, O Lord, how long? and be entreated in favour of thy servants.
Psalms 89:14Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne; loving-kindness and truth go before thy face.The seat of your kingdom is resting on righteousness and right judging: mercy and good faith come before your face.Righteousness and judgment [Are] the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.We are filled in the morning with thy mercy: and we have rejoiced, and are delighted all our days.
Psalms 89:15Blessed is the people that know the shout of joy: they walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.Happy are the people who have knowledge of the holy cry: the light of your face, O Lord, will be shining on their way.O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.We have rejoiced for the days in which thou hast humbled us: for the years in which we have seen evils.
Psalms 89:16In thy name are they joyful all the day, and in thy righteousness are they exalted.In your name will they have joy all the day: in your righteousness will they be lifted up.In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And in Thy righteousness they are exalted,Look upon thy servants and upon their works: and direct their children.
Psalms 89:17For thou art the glory of their strength; and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.For you are the glory of their strength; in your pleasure will our horn be lifted up.For the beauty of their strength [art] Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.
Psalms 89:18For Jehovah is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel, our king.For our breastplate is the Lord; and our king is the Holy One of Israel's.For of Jehovah [is] our shield, And of the Holy One of Israel our king.
Psalms 89:19Then thou spakest in vision of thy Holy One, and saidst, I have laid help upon a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.Then your voice came to your holy one in a vision, saying, I have put the crown on a strong one, lifting up one taken from among the people.Then Thou hast spoken in vision, To Thy saint, yea, Thou sayest, I have placed help upon a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,
Psalms 89:20I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:I have made discovery of David my servant; I have put my holy oil on his head.I have found David My servant, With My holy oil I have anointed him.
Psalms 89:21With whom my hand shall be established; and mine arm shall strengthen him.My hand will be his support; my arm will give him strength.With whom My hand is established, My arm also doth strengthen him.
Psalms 89:22No enemy shall exact upon him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him;The deceit of those who are against him will not overcome him; he will not be troubled by the sons of evil.An enemy exacteth not upon him, And a son of perverseness afflicteth him not.
Psalms 89:23But I will beat down his adversaries before his face, and will smite them that hate him.I will have those who are against him broken before his face, and his haters will be crushed under my blows.And I have beaten down before him his adversaries, And those hating him I plague,
Psalms 89:24And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness shall be with him, and by my name shall his horn be exalted.But my faith and my mercy will be with him; and in my name will his horn be lifted up.And My faithfulness and kindness [are] with him, And in My name is his horn exalted.
Psalms 89:25And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.I will put his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.And I have set on the sea his hand, And on the rivers his right hand.
Psalms 89:26*He* shall call unto me, Thou art my father, my ùGod, and the rock of my salvation;He will say to me, You are my father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.He proclaimeth me: `Thou [art] my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.`
Psalms 89:27And as to me, I will make him firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.And I will make him the first of my sons, most high over the kings of the earth.I also first-born do appoint him, Highest of the kings of the earth.
Psalms 89:28My loving-kindness will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him;I will keep my mercy for him for ever; my agreement with him will not be changed.To the age I keep for him My kindness, And My covenant [is] stedfast with him.
Psalms 89:29And I will establish his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.His seed will keep their place for ever; his kingdom will be eternal, like the heavens.And I have set his seed for ever, And his throne as the days of the heavens.
Psalms 89:30If his sons forsake my law, and walk not in mine ordinances;If his children give up my law, and are not ruled by my decisions;If his sons forsake My law, And in My judgments do not walk;
Psalms 89:31If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:If my rules are broken, and my orders are not kept;If My statutes they pollute, And My commands do not keep,
Psalms 89:32Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.Then I will send punishment on them for their sin; my rod will be the reward of their evil-doing.I have looked after with a rod their transgression, And with strokes their iniquity,
Psalms 89:33Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor belie my faithfulness;But I will not take away my mercy from him, and will not be false to my faith.And My kindness I break not from him, Nor do I deal falsely in My faithfulness.
Psalms 89:34My covenant will I not profane, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.I will be true to my agreement; the things which have gone out of my lips will not be changed.I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.
Psalms 89:35Once have I sworn by my holiness; I will not lie unto David:I have made an oath once by my holy name, that I will not be false to David.Once I have sworn by My holiness, I lie not to David,
Psalms 89:36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me;His seed will not come to an end for ever; the seat of his kingdom will be like the sun before me.His seed is to the age, And his throne [is] as the sun before Me,
Psalms 89:37It shall be established for ever as the moon, and the witness in the sky is firm. Selah.It will be fixed for ever like the moon; and the witness in heaven is true. (Selah.)As the moon it is established to the age, And the witness in the sky is stedfast. Selah.
Psalms 89:38But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:But you have put him away in disgust; you have been angry with the king of your selection.And Thou, Thou hast cast off, and dost reject, Thou hast shown Thyself wroth With Thine anointed,
Psalms 89:39Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:You have made your agreement with your servant of no effect: you have had no respect for his crown, it has come down even to the earth.Hast rejected the covenant of Thy servant, Thou hast polluted to the earth his crown,
Psalms 89:40Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.All his walls are broken down; you have given his strong towers to destruction.Thou hast broken down all his hedges, Thou hast made his fenced places a ruin.
Psalms 89:41All that pass by the way plunder him; he is become a reproach to his neighbours.All those who come by take away his goods; he is laughed at by his neighbours.Spoiled him have all passing by the way, He hath been a reproach to his neighbours,
Psalms 89:42Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:You have given power to the right hand of his haters; you have made glad all those who are against him.Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries, Thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.
Psalms 89:43Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.His sword is turned back; you have not been his support in the fight.Also Thou turnest back the sharpness of his sword, And hast not established him in battle,
Psalms 89:44Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground;You have put an end to his glory: the seat of his kingdom has been levelled to the earth.Hast caused [him] to cease from his brightness, And his throne to the earth hast cast down.
Psalms 89:45The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.You have made him old before his time; he is covered with shame. (Selah.)Thou hast shortened the days of his youth, Hast covered him over [with] shame. Selah.
Psalms 89:46How long, Jehovah, wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy fury burn like fire?How long, O Lord, will you Keep yourself for ever from our eyes? how long will your wrath be burning like fire?Till when, O Jehovah, art Thou hidden? For ever doth Thy fury burn as fire?
Psalms 89:47Remember, as regards me, what life is. Wherefore hast thou created all the children of men to be vanity?See how short my time is; why have you made all men for no purpose?Remember, I pray Thee, what [is] life-time? Wherefore in vain hast Thou created All the sons of men?
Psalms 89:48What man liveth, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.What man now living will not see death? will he be able to keep back his soul from the underworld? (Selah.)Who [is] the man that liveth, and doth not see death? He delivereth his soul from the hand of Sheol. Selah.
Psalms 89:49Where, Lord, are thy former loving-kindnesses, [which] thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?Lord, where are your earlier mercies? where is the oath which you made to David in unchanging faith?Where [are] Thy former kindnesses, O Lord. Thou hast sworn to David in Thy faithfulness,
Psalms 89:50Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants that I bear in my bosom [that of] all the mighty peoplesKeep in mind, O Lord, the shame of your servants, and how the bitter words of all the people have come into my heart;Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Thy servants, I have borne in my bosom all the strivings of the peoples,
Psalms 89:51Wherewith thine enemies, O Jehovah, have reproached, wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.The bitter words of your haters, O Lord, shaming the footsteps of your king.Wherewith Thine enemies reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached The steps of Thine anointed.
Psalms 89:52Blessed be Jehovah for evermore! Amen, and Amen.Let the Lord be praised for ever. So be it, So be it.Blessed [is] Jehovah to the age. Amen, and amen!
