Psalms 88:4I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength:I am numbered among those who go down into the earth; I have become like a man for whom there is no help:I have been reckoned with those going down [to] the pit, I have been as a man without strength.I am counted among those who go down into the pit. I am like a man who has no help,
Psalms 88:5Prostrate among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave; whom thou rememberest no more, and who are cut off from thy hand.My soul is among the dead, like those in the underworld, to whom you give no more thought; for they are cut off from your care.Among the dead free, As pierced ones lying in the grave, Whom Thou hast not remembered any more, Yea, they by Thy hand have been cut off.Set apart among the dead, Like the slain who lie in the grave, Whom you remember no more. They are cut off from your hand.
Psalms 88:6Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in the deeps. You have put me in the lowest deep, even in dark places.Thou hast put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in depths. You have laid me in the lowest pit, In the darkest depths.
Psalms 88:7Thy fury lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted [me] with all thy waves. Selah. The weight of your wrath is crushing me, all your waves have overcome me. Psalms 88:8Thou hast put my familiar friends far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. You have sent my friends far away from me; you have made me a disgusting thing in their eyes: I am shut up, and not able to come out.Thou hast put mine acquaintance far from me, Thou hast made me an abomination to them, Shut up I go not forth. You have taken my friends from me. You have made me an abomination to them. I am confined, and I can't escape.
Psalms 88:9Mine eye consumeth by reason of affliction. Upon thee, Jehovah, have I called every day; I have stretched out my hands unto thee.My eyes are wasting away because of my trouble: Lord, my cry has gone up to you every day, my hands are stretched out to you.Mine eye hath grieved because of affliction, I called Thee, O Jehovah, all the day, I have spread out unto Thee my hands. My eyes are dim from grief. I have called on you daily, Yahweh. I have spread out my hands to you.
Psalms 88:10Wilt thou do wonders to the dead? shall the shades arise and praise thee? Selah. Will you do works of wonder for the dead? will the shades come back to give you praise? Psalms 88:11Shall thy loving-kindness be declared in the grave? thy faithfulness in Destruction? Will the story of your mercy be given in the house of the dead? will news of your faith come to the place of destruction? Is Thy kindness recounted in the grave? Thy faithfulness in destruction? Is your lovingkindness declared in the grave? Or your faithfulness in Destruction?
Psalms 88:12Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?May there be knowledge of your wonders in the dark? or of your righteousness where memory is dead? Are Thy wonders known in the darkness? And Thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? Are your wonders made known in the dark? Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
Psalms 88:13But as for me, Jehovah, I cry unto thee, and in the morning my prayer cometh before thee. But to you did I send up my cry, O Lord; in the morning my prayer came before you.And I, unto Thee, O Jehovah, I have cried, And in the morning doth my prayer come before Thee. But to you, Yahweh, I have cried. In the morning, my prayer comes before you.
Psalms 88:14Why, O Jehovah, castest thou off my soul? [why] hidest thou thy face from me?Lord, why have you sent away my soul? why is your face covered from me?Why, O Jehovah, castest Thou off my soul? Thou hidest Thy face from me.Yahweh, why do you reject my soul? Why do you hide your face from me?
Psalms 88:15I am afflicted and expiring from my youth up; I suffer thy terrors, [and] I am distracted.I have been troubled and in fear of death from the time when I was young; your wrath is hard on me, and I have no strength.I [am] afflicted, and expiring from youth, I have borne Thy terrors I pine away.I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.
Psalms 88:16Thy fierce anger hath gone over me; thy terrors have brought me to nought:The heat of your wrath has gone over me; I am broken by your cruel punishments.Over me hath Thy wrath passed, Thy terrors have cut me off,Your fierce wrath has gone over me. Your terrors have cut me off.
