2nd-Timothy 4:1I testify before God and Christ Jesus, who is about to judge living and dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom,I give you orders, before God and Christ Jesus, who will be the judge of the living and the dead, and by his revelation and his kingdom;
2nd-Timothy 4:2proclaim the word; be urgent in season [and] out of season, convict, rebuke, encourage, with all longsuffering and doctrine.Be preaching the word at all times, in every place; make protests, say sharp words, give comfort, with long waiting and teaching;
2nd-Timothy 4:3For the time shall be when they will not bear sound teaching; but according to their own lusts will heap up to themselves teachers, having an itching ear;For the time will come when they will not take the true teaching; but, moved by their desires, they will get for themselves a great number of teachers for the pleasure of hearing them;
2nd-Timothy 4:4and they will turn away their ear from the truth, and will have turned aside to fables.And shutting their ears to what is true, will be turned away to belief in foolish stories.
2nd-Timothy 4:5But *thou*, be sober in all things, bear evils, do [the] work of an evangelist, fill up the full measure of thy ministry.But be self-controlled in all things, do without comfort, go on preaching the good news, completing the work which has been given you to do.
2nd-Timothy 4:6For *I* am already being poured out, and the time of my release is come.For I am even now being offered, and my end is near.
2nd-Timothy 4:7I have combated the good combat, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.I have made a good fight, I have come to the end of my journey, I have kept the faith:
2nd-Timothy 4:8Henceforth the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will render to me in that day; but not only to me, but also to all who love his appearing.From now on, the crown of righteousness is made ready for me, which the Lord, the upright judge, Will give to me at that day: and not only to me, but to all those who have had love for his revelation.
2nd-Timothy 4:9Use diligence to come to me quickly;Do your best to come to me before long:
2nd-Timothy 4:10for Demas has forsaken me, having loved the present age, and is gone to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.For Demas has gone away from me, for love of this present life, and has gone to Thessalonica: Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
2nd-Timothy 4:11Luke alone is with me. Take Mark, and bring [him] with thyself, for he is serviceable to me for ministry.Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and take him with you; for he is of use to me in the work.
2nd-Timothy 4:12But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.
2nd-Timothy 4:13The cloak which I left behind [me] in Troas at Carpus's, bring when thou comest, and the books, especially the parchments.The coat which I did not take from Troas and which is with Carpus, get when you come, and the books, specially the papers.
2nd-Timothy 4:14Alexander the smith did many evil things against me. The Lord will render to him according to his works.Alexander the copper-worker did me much wrong: the Lord will give him the reward of his works:
2nd-Timothy 4:15Against whom be *thou* also on thy guard, for he has greatly withstood our words.But be on the watch for him, for he was violent in his attacks on our teaching.
2nd-Timothy 4:16At my first defence no man stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be imputed to them.At my first meeting with my judges, no one took my part, but all went away from me. May it not be put to their account.
2nd-Timothy 4:17But the Lord stood with [me], and gave me power, that through me the proclamation might be fully made, and all [those of] the nations should hear; and I was delivered out of the lion's mouth.But the Lord was by my side and gave me strength; so that through me the news might be given out in full measure, and all the Gentiles might give ear: and I was taken out of the mouth of the lion.
2nd-Timothy 4:18The Lord shall deliver me from every wicked work, and shall preserve [me] for his heavenly kingdom; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.The Lord will keep me safe from every evil work and will give me salvation in his kingdom in heaven: to whom be glory for ever and ever. So be it.
