Psalms 37:1{[A Psalm] of David.} Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, and be not envious of them that work unrighteousness;A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.<Of David.> Do not be angry because of the wrongdoers, or have envy of the workers of evil.By David. Do not fret because of evil doers, Be not envious against doers of iniquity,
Psalms 37:2for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and fade as the green herb.Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath. For they will quickly be cut down like grass, and become dry like the green plants. For as grass speedily they are cut off, And as the greenness of the tender grass do fade.
Psalms 37:3Confide in Jehovah, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on faithfulness; For thy arrows are fastened in me : and thy hand hath been strong upon me.Have faith in the Lord, and do good; be at rest in the land, and go after righteousness.Trust in Jehovah, and do good, Dwell [in] the land, and enjoy faithfulness,
Psalms 37:4and delight thyself in Jehovah, and he will give thee the desires of thy heart. There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath : there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.So will your delight be in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires. And delight thyself on Jehovah, And He giveth to thee the petitions of thy heart.
Psalms 37:5Commit thy way unto Jehovah, and rely upon him: he will bring [it] to pass; For my iniquities are gone over my head : and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.Put your life in the hands of the Lord; have faith in him and he will do it.Roll on Jehovah thy way, And trust upon Him, and He worketh,
Psalms 37:6and he will bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness. And he will make your righteousness be seen like the light, and your cause like the shining of the sun.And hath brought out as light thy righteousness, And thy judgment as noon-day.
Psalms 37:7Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him that prospereth in his way, because of the man that bringeth mischievous devices to pass.I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end : I walked sorrowful all the day long.Take your rest in the Lord, waiting quietly for him; do not be angry because of the man who does well in his evil ways, and gives effect to his bad designs.Be silent for Jehovah, and stay thyself for Him, Do not fret because of him Who is making prosperous his way, Because of a man doing wicked devices.
Psalms 37:8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself: it [would be] only to do evil. For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.Put an end to your wrath and be no longer bitter; do not give way to angry feeling which is a cause of sin.Desist from anger, and forsake fury, Fret not thyself only to do evil.
Psalms 37:9For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait on Jehovah, they shall possess the land.I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly : I roared with the groaning of my heart. For the evil-doers will be cut off: but those who have faith in the Lord will have the earth for their heritage. For evil doers are cut off, As to those waiting on Jehovah, they possess the land.
Psalms 37:10For yet a little while, and the wicked is not; and thou considerest his place, but he is not.Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee. For in a short time the evil-doer will be gone: you will go searching for his place, and it will not be there. And yet a little, and the wicked is not, And thou hast considered his place, and it is not.
Psalms 37:11But the meek shall possess the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of prosperity. My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.But the gentle will have the earth for their heritage; they will take their delight in peace without measure. And the humble do possess the land, And they have delighted themselves In the abundance of peace.
Psalms 37:12The wicked plotteth against the righteous, and gnasheth his teeth against him.My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off :The sinner has evil designs against the upright, lifting up the voice of wrath against him.The wicked is devising against the righteous, And gnashing against him his teeth.
Psalms 37:13The Lord laugheth at him; for he seeth that his day is coming. And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.He will be laughed at by the Lord, who sees that his day is coming. The Lord doth laugh at him, For He hath seen that his day cometh.
Psalms 37:14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the afflicted and needy, to slay those that are upright in [the] way:But I, as a deaf man, heard not : and as a dumb man not opening his mouth. The evil-doers have taken out their swords, their bows are bent; for crushing the poor, and to put to death those who are upright in their ways.A sword have the wicked opened, And they have trodden their bow, To cause to fall the poor and needy, To slaughter the upright of the way.
Psalms 37:15their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. And I became as a man that heareth not : and that hath no reproofs in his mouth. But their swords will be turned into their hearts, and their bows will be broken.Their sword doth enter into their own heart, And their bows are shivered.
Psalms 37:16The little that the righteous hath is better than the abundance of many wicked; For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped : thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.The little which the good man has is better than the wealth of evil-doers.Better [is] the little of the righteous, Than the store of many wicked.
Psalms 37:17for the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Jehovah upholdeth the righteous. For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me : and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.For the arms of the evil-doers will be broken: but the Lord is the support of the good. For the arms of the wicked are shivered, And Jehovah is sustaining the righteous.
Psalms 37:18Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; and their inheritance shall be for ever:For I am ready for scourges : and my sorrow is continually before me.The days of the upright are numbered by the Lord, and their heritage will be for ever.Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is to the age.
Psalms 37:19they shall not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. For I will declare my inequity : and I will think for my sin. They will not be shamed in the evil time, and in the days when all are in need of food they will have enough. They are not ashamed in a time of evil, And in days of famine they are satisfied.
Psalms 37:20For the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume, like smoke shall they consume away. But my enemies live, and are stronger that I : and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied. But the wrongdoers will come to destruction, and the haters of the Lord will be like the fat of lambs, they will be burned up; they will go up in smoke, and never again be seen. But the wicked perish, and the enemies of Jehovah, As the preciousness of lambs, Have been consumed, In smoke they have been consumed.
Psalms 37:21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; but the righteous is gracious and giveth:They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness. The sinner takes money and does not give it back; but the upright man has mercy, and gives to others. The wicked is borrowing and repayeth not, And the righteous is gracious and giving.
Psalms 37:22for those blessed of him shall possess the land, and they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.Forsake me not, O Lord my God : do not thou depart from me.Those who have his blessing will have the earth for their heritage; but those who are cursed by him will be cut off.For His blessed ones do possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.
Psalms 37:23The steps of a man are established by Jehovah, and he delighteth in his way:Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way. From Jehovah [are] the steps of a man, They have been prepared, And his way he desireth.
Psalms 37:24though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down, for Jehovah upholdeth his hand.Even if he has a fall he will not be without help: for the hand of the Lord is supporting him. When he falleth, he is not cast down, For Jehovah is sustaining his hand.
Psalms 37:25I have been young, and now am old, and I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread:I have been young, and now am old, but I have not seen the good man without help, or his children looking for bread.Young I have been, I have also become old, And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, And his seed seeking bread.
Psalms 37:26all the day he is gracious and lendeth, and his seed shall be a blessing. All the day he is ready to have mercy and to give; his children are a blessing. All the day he is gracious and lending, And his seed [is] for a blessing.

Psalms 37:28for Jehovah loveth judgment, and will not forsake his saints: They are preserved for ever; but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.For the Lord is a lover of righteousness, and takes care of his saints; they will be kept safe for ever; but the seed of the evil-doers will be cut off.For Jehovah is loving judgment, And He doth not forsake His saintly ones, To the age they have been kept, And the seed of the wicked is cut off.
Psalms 37:29The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell therein for ever. The upright will have the earth for their heritage, and will go on living there for ever. The righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it.
Psalms 37:30The mouth of the righteous proffereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh judgment; The mouth of the good man says words of wisdom; the talk of his tongue is of righteousness. The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, And his tongue speaketh judgment.
Psalms 37:31the law of his God is in his heart; his goings shall not slide. The law of his God is in his heart; he will never make a false step. The law of his God [is] his heart, His steps do not slide.
Psalms 37:32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him:The sinners are watching the upright man, desiring to put him to death. The wicked is watching for the righteous, And is seeking to put him to death.

Psalms 37:36but he passed away, and behold, he was not; and I sought him, but he was not found. But he came to an end, and there was no sign of him; I made a search for him and he was not there. And he passeth away, and lo, he is not, And I seek him, and he is not found!
Psalms 37:37Mark the perfect, and behold the upright, for the end of [that] man is peace;Give attention to the good man, and take note of the upright; because the end of that man is peace.Observe the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each [is] peace.
Psalms 37:38but the transgressors shall be destroyed together; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.But as for the sinners, they will be cut off together; the end of the wrongdoers is destruction. And transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.
Psalms 37:39But the salvation of the righteous is of Jehovah: he is their strength in the time of trouble. But the Lord is the saviour of the upright: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the salvation of the righteous [is] from Jehovah, Their strong place in a time of adversity.
