Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forthThe dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth. They gave the dead bodies of Thy servants Food for the fowls of the heavens, The flesh of Thy saints For the wild beast of the earth.
Psalms 79:3Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem, and there was none to bury [them].before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Psalms 79:4We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision to them that are round about us.Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved. We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. We have been a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a derision to our surrounders.
Psalms 79:5How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant? How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire? Till when, O Jehovah? art Thou angry for ever? Thy jealousy doth burn as fire.
Psalms 79:6Pour out thy fury upon the nations that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name:How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.Pour Thy fury on the nations who have not known Thee, And on kingdoms that have not called in Thy name.
Psalms 79:7For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his habitation.Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place. For [one] hath devoured Jacob, And his habitation they have made desolate.
Psalms 79:8Remember not against us the iniquities of [our] forefathers; let thy tender mercies speedily come to meet us: for we are brought very low.O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.Remember not for us the iniquities of forefathers, Haste, let Thy mercies go before us, For we have been very weak.
Psalms 79:9Help us, O God of our salvation, because of the glory of thy name; and deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.Help us, O God of our salvation, Because of the honour of Thy name, And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Thy name`s sake.
Psalms 79:10Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants that is shed be known among the nations in our sight.Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed. Why do the nations say, `Where [is] their God?` Let be known among the nations before our eyes, The vengeance of the blood of Thy servants that is shed.
Psalms 79:11Let the groaning of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thine arm, preserve those that are appointed to die;The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;Let the groaning of the prisoner come in before Thee, According to the greatness of Thine arm, Leave Thou the sons of death.
Psalms 79:12And render unto our neighbours, sevenfold into their bosom, their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river. And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord. And turn Thou back to our neighbours, Sevenfold unto their bosom, their reproach, Wherewith they reproached Thee, O Lord.
Psalms 79:13And we, thy people and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee for ever; we will shew forth thy praise from generation to generation. Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations. And we, Thy people, and the flock of Thy pasture, We give thanks to Thee to the age, To all generations we recount Thy praise!
