Psalms 33:1Exult, ye righteous, in Jehovah: praise is comely for the upright.Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]
Psalms 33:2Give thanks unto Jehovah with the harp; sing psalms unto him with the ten-stringed lute.Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
Psalms 33:3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud sound.Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.
Psalms 33:4For the word of Jehovah is right, and all his work is in faithfulness.For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together.
Psalms 33:5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the loving-kindness of Jehovah.He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles.
Psalms 33:6By the word of Jehovah were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.
Psalms 33:7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psalms 33:8Let all the earth fear Jehovah; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him: and shall deliver them.
Psalms 33:9For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast.For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.
Psalms 33:10Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
Psalms 33:11The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.
Psalms 33:12Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah, the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance!Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Psalms 33:13Jehovah looketh from the heavens; he beholdeth all the sons of men:The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days?
Psalms 33:14From the place of his habitation he looketh forth upon all the inhabitants of the earth;From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalms 33:15He who fashioneth the hearts of them all, who considereth all their works.He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.
Psalms 33:16The king is not saved by the multitude of [his] forces; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.
Psalms 33:17The horse is a vain thing for safety; neither doth he deliver by his great power.An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Psalms 33:18Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his loving-kindness,Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.
Psalms 33:19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.
Psalms 33:20Our soul waiteth for Jehovah: he is our help and our shield.Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.
Psalms 33:21For in him shall our heart rejoice, because we have confided in his holy name.For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
Psalms 33:22Let thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.
