| Psalms 35:1 | {[A Psalm] of David.} Strive, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me; fight against them that fight against me: | A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. | By David. Strive, Jehovah, with my strivers, fight with my fighters, | Unto the end, for the servant of God, David himself. |
| Psalms 35:2 | Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help; | Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. | Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise for my help, | The unjust hath said within himself, that he would sin : there is no fear of God before his eyes. |
| Psalms 35:3 | And draw out the spear, and stop [the way] against my pursuers: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. | Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I am thy salvation. | And draw out spear and lance, To meet my pursuers. Say to my soul, `Thy salvation I [am].` | For in his sight he hath done deceitfully, that his iniquity may be found unto hatred. |
| Psalms 35:4 | Let them be put to shame and confounded that seek after my life; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that devise my hurt: | Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. | They are ashamed and blush, those seeking my soul, Turned backward and confounded, Those devising my evil. | The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile : he would not understand that he might do well. |

| Psalms 35:6 | Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them. | Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. | Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer. | O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds. |

| Psalms 35:8 | Let destruction come upon him unawares, and let his net which he hath hidden catch himself: for destruction let him fall therein. | Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. | Meet him doth desolation he knoweth not, And his net that he hid catcheth him, For desolation he falleth into it. | O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings. |

| Psalms 35:13 | But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I chastened my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into mine own bosom: | But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom. | And I in their sickness my clothing [is] sackcloth, I have humbled with fastings my soul, And my prayer unto my bosom returneth. | There the workers of iniquity are fallen, they are cast out, and could not stand. |

| Psalms 35:15 | But at my halting they rejoiced, and gathered together: the slanderers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew [it] not; they did tear [me], and ceased not: | But in my adversity they rejoiced, and assembled themselves: yes, the abjects assembled themselves against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: | And in my halting they have rejoiced, And have been gathered together, Gathered against me were the smiters, And I have not known, They have rent, and they have not ceased; | |
