Psalms 77:1{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A Psalm.} My voice is unto God, and I will cry; my voice is unto God, and he will give ear unto me.To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph. I cried to God with my voice, even to God with my voice; and he gave ear to me.To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. My voice [is] to God, and I cry, my voice [is] to God, And He hath given ear unto me.Understanding for Asaph. Attend, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
Psalms 77:2In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not; my soul refused to be comforted.In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.In a day of my distress the Lord I sought, My hand by night hath been spread out, And it doth not cease, My soul hath refused to be comforted.I will open my mouth in parables: I will utter propositions from the beginning.
Psalms 77:3I remembered God, and I moaned; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.I remember God, and make a noise, I meditate, and feeble is my spirit. Selah.How great things have we heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
Psalms 77:4Thou holdest open mine eyelids; I am full of disquiet and cannot speak.Thou holdest my eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.Thou hast taken hold of the watches of mine eyes, I have been moved, and I speak not.They have not been hidden from their children, in another generation. Declaring the praises of the Lord, and his powers, and his wonders which he hath done.
Psalms 77:5I consider the days of old, the years of ancient times.I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.I have reckoned the days of old, The years of the ages.And he set up a testimony in Jacob: and made a law in Israel. How great things he commanded our fathers, that they should make the same known to their children:
Psalms 77:6I remember my song in the night; I muse in mine own heart, and my spirit maketh diligent search.I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.I remember my music in the night, With my heart I meditate, and my spirit doth search diligently:that another generation might know them. The children that should be born and should rise up, and declare them to their children.
Psalms 77:7Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favorable no more?To the ages doth the Lord cast off? Doth He add to be pleased no more?That they may put their hope in God and may not forget the works of God: and may seek his commandments.
Psalms 77:8Hath his loving-kindness ceased for ever? hath [his] word come to an end from generation to generation?Is his mercy wholly gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?Hath His kindness ceased for ever? The saying failed to all generations?That they may not become like their fathers, a perverse end exasperating generation. A generation that set not their heart aright: and whose spirit was not faithful to God.
Psalms 77:9Hath ùGod forgotten to be gracious? or hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.Hath God forgotten [His] favours? Hath He shut up in anger His mercies? Selah.The sons of Ephraim who bend and shoot with the bow: they have turned back in the day of battle.
Psalms 77:10Then said I, This is my weakness: the years of the right hand of the Most HighAnd I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.And I say: `My weakness is, The changes of the right hand of the Most High.`They kept not the covenant of God: and in his law they would not walk.
Psalms 77:11Will I remember, the works of Jah; for I will remember thy wonders of old,I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.I mention the doings of Jah, For I remember of old Thy wonders,And they forgot his benefits, and his wonders that he had shewn them.
Psalms 77:12And I will meditate upon all thy work, and muse upon thy doings.I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.And I have meditated on all Thy working, And I talk concerning Thy doings.Wonderful things did he do in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Tanis.
Psalms 77:13O God, thy way is in the sanctuary: who is so great a ùgod as God?Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God!O God, in holiness [is] Thy way, Who [is] a great god like God?He divided the sea and brought them through: and he made the waters to stand as in a vessel.
Psalms 77:14Thou art the ùGod that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength among the peoples.Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.Thou [art] the God doing wonders. Thou hast made known among the peoples Thy strength,And he conducted them with a cloud by day: and all the night with a light of
Psalms 77:15Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.Thou hast with thy arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.Thou hast redeemed with strength Thy people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.He struck the rock in the wilderness: and gave them to drink, as out of the great deep.
Psalms 77:16The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they trembled, yea, the depths were troubled:The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were disturbed.The waters have seen Thee, O God, The waters have seen Thee, They are afraid also depths are troubled.He brought forth water out of the rock: and made streams run down as rivers.
Psalms 77:17The thick clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound, yea, thine arrows went abroad:The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thy arrows also went abroad.Poured out waters have thick clouds, The skies have given forth a noise, Also Thine arrows go up and down.And they added yet more sin against him: they provoked the most High to wrath in the place without water.
Psalms 77:18The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind, lightnings lit up the world; the earth was troubled and it quaked.The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.The voice of Thy thunder [is] in the spheres, Lightnings have lightened the world, The earth hath trembled, yea, it shaketh.And they tempted God in their hearts, by asking meat for their desires.
Psalms 77:19Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths are in the great waters; and thy footsteps are not known.Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.In the sea [is] Thy way, And Thy paths [are] in many waters, And Thy tracks have not been known.And they spoke ill of God: they said: Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
Psalms 77:20Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.Thou hast led as a flock Thy people, By the hand of Moses and Aaron!Because he struck the rock, and the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed. Can he also give bread, or provide a table for his people?
