1st-Corinthians 10:1For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1st-Corinthians 10:2and all were baptised unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1st-Corinthians 10:3and all ate the same spiritual food,And all ate the same spiritual food;
1st-Corinthians 10:4and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed [them]: (now the rock was the Christ;)And all drank the same spiritual drink: (for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.)
1st-Corinthians 10:5yet God was not pleased with the most of them, for they were strewed in the desert.But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
1st-Corinthians 10:6But these things happened [as] types of us, that we should not be lusters after evil things, as they also lusted.Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
1st-Corinthians 10:7Neither be ye idolaters, as some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them: as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
1st-Corinthians 10:8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us commit lewdness, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1st-Corinthians 10:9Neither let us tempt the Christ, as some of them tempted, and perished by serpents.Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
1st-Corinthians 10:10Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
1st-Corinthians 10:11Now all these things happened to them [as] types, and have been written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.Now all these things happened to them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
1st-Corinthians 10:12So that let him that thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
1st-Corinthians 10:13No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able [to bear], but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that [ye] should be able to bear [it].There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1st-Corinthians 10:14Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
1st-Corinthians 10:15I speak as to intelligent [persons]: do *ye* judge what I say.I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
1st-Corinthians 10:16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not [the] communion of the blood of the Christ? The bread which we break, is it not [the] communion of the body of the Christ?The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1st-Corinthians 10:17Because we, [being] many, are one loaf, one body; for we all partake of that one loaf.For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1st-Corinthians 10:18See Israel according to flesh: are not they who eat the sacrifices in communion with the altar?Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they who eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?
1st-Corinthians 10:19What then do I say? that what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything?What then do I say? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
1st-Corinthians 10:20But that what [the nations] sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. Now I do not wish you to be in communion with demons.But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with demons.
1st-Corinthians 10:21Ye cannot drink [the] Lord's cup, and [the] cup of demons: ye cannot partake of [the] Lord's table, and of [the] table of demons.Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.
1st-Corinthians 10:22Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
1st-Corinthians 10:23All things are lawful, but all are not profitable; all things are lawful, but all do not edify.All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
1st-Corinthians 10:24Let no one seek his own [advantage], but that of the other.Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
1st-Corinthians 10:25Everything sold in the shambles eat, making no inquiry for conscience sake.Whatever is sold in the provision market, that eat, asking no question for conscience' sake:
1st-Corinthians 10:26For the earth [is] the Lord's and its fulness.For the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness.
1st-Corinthians 10:27But if any one of the unbelievers invite you, and ye are minded to go, all that is set before you eat, making no inquiry for conscience sake.If any of them that believe not invites you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question on account of conscience.
1st-Corinthians 10:28But if any one say to you, This is offered to holy purposes, do not eat, for his sake that pointed it out, and conscience sake;But if any man shall say to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience' sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness:
1st-Corinthians 10:29but conscience, I mean, not thine own, but that of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another conscience?Conscience, I say, not thy own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another man's conscience?
1st-Corinthians 10:30If *I* partake with thanksgiving, why am I spoken evil of for what *I* give thanks for?For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
1st-Corinthians 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all things to God's glory.Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1st-Corinthians 10:32Give no occasion to stumbling, whether to Jews, or Greeks, or the assembly of God.Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
1st-Corinthians 10:33Even as *I* also please all in all things; not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved.Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
