| 1st-Corinthians 8:1 | But concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know, (for we all have knowledge: knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. | Now as concerning things offered to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. |
| 1st-Corinthians 8:2 | If any one think he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know [it]. | And if any man thinketh that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. |
| 1st-Corinthians 8:3 | But if any one love God, *he* is known of him): | But if any man loveth God, the same is known by him. |
| 1st-Corinthians 8:4 | concerning then the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in [the] world, and that there [is] no other God save one. | Therefore as concerning the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. |

| 1st-Corinthians 8:8 | But meat does not commend us to God; neither if we should not eat do we come short; nor if we should eat have we an advantage. | But food commendeth us not to God: for neither if we eat, are we the better; neither if we eat not, are we the worse. |
