Psalms 81:1{To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. [A Psalm] of Asaph.} Sing ye joyously unto God our strength, shout aloud unto the God of Jacob;To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud to God our strength: make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:2Raise a song, and sound the tambour, the pleasant harp with the lute.Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
Psalms 81:3Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day:Blow the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
Psalms 81:4For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob;For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:5He ordained it in Joseph [for] a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, [where] I heard a language that I knew not.This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
Psalms 81:6I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

Psalms 81:8Hear, my people, and I will testify unto thee; O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee; O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me;
Psalms 81:9There shall no strange ùgod be in thee, neither shalt thou worship any foreign ùgod.There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
Psalms 81:10I am Jehovah thy God, that brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.I am the LORD thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Psalms 81:11But my people hearkened not to my voice, and Israel would none of me.But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would not obey me.
Psalms 81:12So I gave them up unto their own hearts' stubbornness: they walked after their own counsels.So I gave them up to their own hearts lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
Psalms 81:13Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, that Israel had walked in my ways!O that my people had hearkened to me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
Psalms 81:14I would soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
Psalms 81:15The haters of Jehovah would have come cringing unto him; but their time would have been for ever.The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves to him: and their time should have endured for ever.
Psalms 81:16And he would have fed them with the finest of wheat; yea, with honey out of the rock would I have satisfied thee.He would have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock I should have satisfied thee.
