| Psalms 27:1 | A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. | Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? | <Of David.> The Lord is my light and my salvation; who is then a cause of fear to me? the Lord is the strength of my life; who is a danger to me? | {[A Psalm] of David.} Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? |
| Psalms 27:2 | Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple. | When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [Even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. | When evil-doers, even my haters, came on me to put an end to me, they were broken and put to shame. | When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. |
| Psalms 27:3 | Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts. | Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear: Though war should rise against me, Even then will I be confident. | Even if an army came against me with its tents, my heart would have no fear: if war was made on me, my faith would not be moved. | If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident. |

According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward. | One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple. | One prayer have I made to the Lord, and this is my heart's desire; that I may have a place in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, looking on his glory, and getting wisdom in his Temple. | One [thing] have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple. |
| Psalms 27:5 | Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up. | For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock. | For in the time of trouble he will keep me safe in his tent: in the secret place of his tent he will keep me from men's eyes; high on a rock he will put me. | For in the day of evil he will hide me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tent will he keep me concealed: he will set me high upon a rock. |

And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah. | And now my head will be lifted up higher than my haters who are round me: because of this I will make offerings of joy in his tent; I will make a song, truly I will make a song of praise to the Lord. | And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tent sacrifices of shouts of joy: I will sing, yea, I will sing psalms unto Jehovah. |
