Psalms 91:1A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day.He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Happy is he whose resting-place is in the secret of the Lord, and under the shade of the wings of the Most High;
Psalms 91:2It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High.I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust. Who says of the Lord, He is my safe place and my tower of strength: he is my God, in whom is my hope.
Psalms 91:3To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night:For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will take you out of the bird-net, and keep you safe from wasting disease.
Psalms 91:4Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp.He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler. You will be covered by his feathers; under his wings you will be safe: his good faith will be your salvation.
Psalms 91:5For thou hast given me, O Lord, a delight in thy doings: and in the works of thy hands I shall rejoice.Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; You will have no fear of the evil things of the night, or of the arrow in flight by day,
Psalms 91:6O Lord, how great are thy works! thy thoughts are exceeding deep.For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. Or of the disease which takes men in the dark, or of the destruction which makes waste when the sun is high.
Psalms 91:7The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things.A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; [But] it shall not come nigh thee. You will see a thousand falling by your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you.
Psalms 91:8When the wicked shall spring up as grass: and all the workers of iniquity shall appear: That they may perish for ever and ever:Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked. Only with your eyes will you see the reward of the evil-doers.
Psalms 91:9but thou, O Lord, art most high for evermore.For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation; Because you have said, I am in the hands of the Lord, the Most High is my safe resting-place;
Psalms 91:10For behold thy enemies, O Lord, for behold thy enemies shall perish: and all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent. No evil will come on you, and no disease will come near your tent.
Psalms 91:11But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy.For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways. For he will give you into the care of his angels to keep you wherever you go.
Psalms 91:12My eye also hath looked down upon my enemies: and my ear shall hear of the downfall of the malignant that rise up against me.They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
Psalms 91:13The just shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus.Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot. You will put your foot on the lion and the snake; the young lion and the great snake will be crushed under your feet.
Psalms 91:14They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Because he has given me his love, I will take him out of danger: I will put him in a place of honour, because he has kept my name in his heart.
Psalms 91:15They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated,He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him. When his cry comes up to me, I will give him an answer: I will be with him in trouble; I will make him free from danger and give him honour.
Psalms 91:16that they may shew, That the Lord our God is righteous, and there is no iniquity in him.With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation. Psalm 92 A Psalm, a Song for the sabbath day. With long life will he be rewarded; and I will let him see my salvation.
