| Psalms 34:1 | For David himself. Judge thou, O Lord, them that wrong me : overthrow them that fight against me. | I will bless Jehovah at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. | <Of David. When he made a change in his behaviour before Abimelech, who sent him away, and he went.> I will be blessing the Lord at all times; his praise will be ever in my mouth. | I will bless Yahweh at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth. |
| Psalms 34:2 | Take hold of arms and shield : and rise up to help me. | My soul shall make her boast in Jehovah: The meek shall hear thereof, and be glad. | My soul will say great things of the Lord: the poor in spirit will have knowledge of it and be glad. | My soul shall boast in Yahweh. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad. |
| Psalms 34:3 | Bring out the sword, and shut up the way against them that persecute me : say to my soul : I am thy salvation. | Oh magnify Jehovah with me, And let us exalt his name together. | O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of his great name. | Oh magnify Yahweh with me. Let us exalt his name together. |
| Psalms 34:4 | Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded that devise against me. | I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. | I was searching for the Lord, and he gave ear to my voice, and made me free from all my fears. | I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. |
| Psalms 34:5 | Let them become as dust before the wind : and let the angel of the Lord straiten them. | They looked unto him, and were radiant; And their faces shall never be confounded. | Let your eyes be turned to him and you will have light, and your faces will not be shamed. | They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame. |
| Psalms 34:6 | Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. | This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. | This poor man's cry came before the Lord, and he gave him salvation from all his troubles. | This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. |
| Psalms 34:7 | For without cause they have hidden their net for me unto destruction : without cause they have upbraided my soul. | The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them. | The angel of the Lord is ever watching over those who have fear of him, to keep them safe. | The angel of Yahweh encamps round about those who fear him, And delivers them. |
| Psalms 34:8 | Let the snare which he knoweth not come upon him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and let the net which he hath hidden catch him : and into that very snare let them fall. | Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man that taketh refuge in him. | By experience you will see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who has faith in him. | Oh taste and see that Yahweh is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. |
| Psalms 34:9 | But my soul shall rejoice in the Lord; and shall be delighted in his salvation. | Oh fear Jehovah, ye his saints; For there is no want to them that fear him. | Keep yourselves in the fear of the Lord, all you his saints; for those who do so will have no need of anything. | Oh fear Yahweh, you his saints, For there is no lack with those who fear him. |
| Psalms 34:10 | All my bones shall say : Lord, who is like to thee? Who deliverest the poor from the hand of them that are stronger than he; the needy and the poor from them that strip him. | The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; But they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good thing. | The young lions are in need and have no food; but those who are looking to the Lord will have every good thing. | The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, But those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing. |
| Psalms 34:11 | Unjust witnesses rising up have asked me things I knew not. | Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah. | Come, children, give attention to me; I will be your teacher in the fear of the Lord. | Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. |
| Psalms 34:12 | They repaid me evil for good : to the depriving me of my soul. | What man is he that desireth life, And loveth [many] days, that he may see good? | What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good? | Who is someone who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? |
| Psalms 34:13 | But as for me, when they were troublesome to me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer shall be turned into my bosom. | Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile. | Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit. | Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking lies. |
| Psalms 34:14 | As a neighbour and as an own brother, so did I please : as one mourning and sorrowful so was I humbled. | Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it. | Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart. | Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it. |
| Psalms 34:15 | But they rejoiced against me, and came together : scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not. | The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are [open] unto their cry. | The eyes of the Lord are on the upright, and his ears are open to their cry. | The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry. |
| Psalms 34:16 | They were separated, and repented not : they tempted me, they scoffed at me with scorn : they gnashed upon me with their teeth. | The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. | The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth. | The face of Yahweh is against those who do evil, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. |
| Psalms 34:17 | Lord, when wilt thou look upon me? rescue thou soul from their malice : my only one from the lions. | [The righteous] cried, and Jehovah heard, And delivered them out of all their troubles. | The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles. | The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. |
| Psalms 34:18 | I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people. | Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit. | The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down. | Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves those who have a crushed spirit. |
| Psalms 34:19 | Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me : who have hated me without cause, and wink with the eyes. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all. | Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But Yahweh delivers him out of them all. |

Those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. |
