Job 35:1Moreover Eliu spoke these words :Moreover Elihu answered and said, And Elihu made answer and said,And Elihu answereth and saith:
Job 35:2Doth thy thought seem right to thee, that thou shouldst say : I am more just than God?Thinkest thou this to be [thy] right, [Or] sayest thou, My righteousness is more than God's, Does it seem to you to be right, and righteousness before God, to say,This hast thou reckoned for judgment: Thou hast said `My righteousness [is] more than God`s?`
Job 35:3For thou saidst : That which is right doth not please thee : or what will it profit thee if I sin? That thou sayest, What advantage will it be unto thee? [And], What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned? What profit is it to me, and how am I better off than if I had done wrong? For thou sayest, `What doth it profit Thee! What do I profit from my sin?`
Job 35:4Therefore I will answer thy words, and thy friends with thee.I will answer thee, And thy companions with thee. I will make answer to you and to your friends:I return thee words, and thy friends with thee,
Job 35:5Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee.Look unto the heavens, and see; And behold the skies, which are higher than thou. Let your eyes be turned to the heavens, and lifted up to see the skies; they are higher than you.Behold attentively the heavens and see, And behold the clouds, They have been higher than thou.
Job 35:6If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? and if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him?If thou hast sinned, what effectest thou against him? And if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? If you have done wrong, is he any the worse for it? and if your sins are great in number, what is it to him?If thou hast sinned, what dost thou against Him? And thy transgressions have been multiplied, What dost thou to Him?
Job 35:7And if thou do justly, what shalt thou give him, or what shall he receive of thy hand?If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? Or what receiveth he of thy hand? If you are upright, what do you give to him? or what does he take from your hand?If thou hast been righteous, What dost thou give to Him? Or what from thy hand doth He receive?
Job 35:8Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee : and thy justice may help the son of man.Thy wickedness [may hurt] a man as thou art; And thy righteousness [may profit] a son of man. Your evil-doing may have an effect on a man like yourself, or your righteousness on a son of man.For a man like thyself [is] thy wickedness, And for a son of man thy righteousness.
Job 35:9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they shall cry out : and shall wail for the violence of the arm of tyrants.By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty. Because the hand of the cruel is hard on them, men are making sounds of grief; they are crying out for help because of the arm of the strong.Because of the multitude of oppressions They cause to cry out, They cry because of the arm of the mighty.
Job 35:10And he hath not said : Where is God, who made me, who hath given songs in the night? But none saith, Where is God my Maker, Who giveth songs in the night, But no one has said, Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night; And none said, `Where [is] God my maker? Giving songs in the night,
Job 35:11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and instructeth us more than the fowls of the air.Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, And maketh us wiser than the birds of the heavens? Who gives us more knowledge than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the heaven?Teaching us more than the beasts of the earth, Yea, than the fowl of the heavens He maketh us wiser.`
Job 35:12There shall they cry, and he will not hear, because of the pride of evil men. There they cry, but none giveth answer, Because of the pride of evil men. There they are crying out because of the pride of the evil-doers, but he gives them no answer. There they cry, and He doth not answer, Because of the pride of evil doers.
Job 35:13God therefore will not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into the causes of every one.Surely God will not hear an empty [cry], Neither will the Almighty regard it. But God will not give ear to what is false, or the Ruler of all take note of it;Surely vanity God doth not hear, And the Mighty doth not behold it.
Job 35:14Yea when thou shalt say : He considereth not : be judged before him, and expect him.How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not, The cause is before him, and thou waitest for him! How much less when you say that you do not see him; that the cause is before him, and you are waiting for him.Yea, though thou sayest thou dost not behold Him, Judgment [is] before Him, and stay for Him.
Job 35:15For he doth not now bring on his fury, neither doth he revenge wickedness exceedingly. But now, because he hath not visited in his anger, Neither doth he greatly regard arrogance; And now ... ;And, now, because there is not, He hath appointed His anger, And He hath not known in great extremity.
Job 35:16Therefore Job openeth his mouth in vain, and multiplieth words without knowledge. Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vanity; He multiplieth words without knowledge. And Job's mouth is open wide to give out what is of no profit, increasing words without knowledge. And Job [with] vanity doth open his mouth, Without knowledge words he multiplieth.
