| Psalms 79:1 | Unto the end, for them that shall he changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm. | O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem in heaps. | <A Psalm. | Psalms 79:2 | Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forth | The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be food unto the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth. | They have given the bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the air, and the flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth. | They gave the dead bodies of Thy servants Food for the fowls of the heavens, The flesh of Thy saints For the wild beast of the earth. |

Thy jealousy doth burn as fire. |
| Psalms 79:6 | How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure? | Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name. | Let your wrath be on the nations who have no knowledge of you, and on the kingdoms who have not made prayer to your name. | Pour Thy fury on the nations who have not known Thee, And on kingdoms that have not called in Thy name. |

| Psalms 79:8 | O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved. | Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low. | Do not keep in mind against us the sins of our fathers; let your mercy come to us quickly, for we have been made very low. | Remember not for us the iniquities of forefathers, Haste, let Thy mercies go before us, For we have been very weak. |
