| Psalms 51:1 | Unto the end, understanding for David, | Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. | {To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.} Be gracious unto me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness; according to the abundance of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. | To the Overseer. A Psalm of David, in the coming inn unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions. |
| Psalms 51:2 | when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul David went to the house of Achimelech | Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. | Wash me fully from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. | Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me, |
| Psalms 51:3 | Why dost thou glory in malice, thou that art mighty in iniquity? | For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me. | For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is continually before me. | For my transgressions I do know, And my sin [is] before me continually. |
| Psalms 51:4 | All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit. | Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, And done that which is evil in thy sight; That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, And be clear when thou judgest. | Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done what is evil in thy sight; that thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, be clear when thou judgest. | Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging. |
| Psalms 51:5 | Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness. | Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. | Behold, in iniquity was I brought forth, and in sin did my mother conceive me. | Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me. |
| Psalms 51:6 | Thou hast loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue. | Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; And in the hidden part thou wilt make me to know wisdom. | Behold, thou wilt have truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden [part] thou wilt make me to know wisdom. | Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know. |
| Psalms 51:7 | Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living. | Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. | Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. | Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter. |
| Psalms 51:8 | The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say: | Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. | Make me to hear gladness and joy; [that] the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. | Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised. |
| Psalms 51:9 | Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity. | Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. | Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. | Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out. |
| Psalms 51:10 | But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever. | Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. | Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. | A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me. |
| Psalms 51:11 | I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints. | Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy Spirit from me. | Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not the spirit of thy holiness from me. | Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me. |
