Psalms 62:1A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom.My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him [cometh] my salvation. {To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Upon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation. To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. Only toward God [is] my soul silent, From Him [is] my salvation.
Psalms 62:2O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.Only He [is] my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved.
Psalms 62:3In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory. How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay [him], all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? How long will ye assail a man; will ye [seek], all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down.
Psalms 62:4For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise. They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah They only consult to thrust [him] down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.Only from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.
Psalms 62:5Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands. My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him. Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.Only for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him [is] my hope.
Psalms 62:6Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.He only is my rock and my salvation: [He is] my high tower; I shall not be moved. He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.Only He [is] my rock and my salvation, My tower, I am not moved.
Psalms 62:7If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.On God [is] my salvation, and my honour, The rock of my strength, my refuge [is] in God.
Psalms 62:8because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.Trust in Him at all times, O people, Pour forth before Him your heart, God [is] a refuge for us. Selah.
Psalms 62:9my soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity. Men of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together [lighter] than vanity.Only vanity [are] the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity [are] lighter.
Psalms 62:10But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart [thereon]. Put not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth when it increaseth set not the heart.
Psalms 62:11They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God. Once hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength [belongeth] unto God.Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That `strength [is] with God.`
Psalms 62:12But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 63 A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. And unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] loving-kindness; for *thou* renderest to every man according to his work. And with Thee, O Lord, [is] kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each, According to his work!
