Psalms 35:1Unto the end, for the servant of God, David himself.Strive thou, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me: Fight thou against them that fight against me. A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.By David. Strive, Jehovah, with my strivers, fight with my fighters,
Psalms 35:2The unjust hath said within himself, that he would sin : there is no fear of God before his eyes.Take hold of shield and buckler, And stand up for my help. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise for my help,
Psalms 35:3For in his sight he hath done deceitfully, that his iniquity may be found unto hatred.Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that pursue me: Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say to my soul, I am thy salvation. And draw out spear and lance, To meet my pursuers. Say to my soul, `Thy salvation I [am].`
Psalms 35:4The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile : he would not understand that he might do well.Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor that seek after my soul: Let them be turned back and confounded that devise my hurt. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. They are ashamed and blush, those seeking my soul, Turned backward and confounded, Those devising my evil.
Psalms 35:5He hath devised iniquity on his bed, he hath set himself on every way that is not good : but evil he hath not hated.Let them be as chaff before the wind, And the angel of Jehovah driving [them] on. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. They are as chaff before wind, And a messenger of Jehovah driving away.
Psalms 35:6O Lord, thy mercy is in heaven, and thy truth reacheth, even to the clouds.Let their way be dark and slippery, And the angel of Jehovah pursuing them. Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer.
Psalms 35:7Thy justice is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are a great deep. Men and beasts thou wilt preserve, O Lord :For without cause have they hid for me their net [in] a pit; Without cause have they digged [a pit] for my soul. For without cause they have hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. For without cause they hid for me their netpit, Without cause they digged for my soul.
Psalms 35:8O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings.Let destruction come upon him unawares; And let his net that he hath hid catch himself: With destruction let him fall therein. Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.Meet him doth desolation he knoweth not, And his net that he hid catcheth him, For desolation he falleth into it.
Psalms 35:9They shall be inebriated with the plenty of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the torrent of thy pleasure. And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah: It shall rejoice in his salvation. And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. And my soul is joyful in Jehovah, It rejoiceth in His salvation.
Psalms 35:10For with thee is the fountain of life; and in thy light we shall see light. All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, Who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, Yea, the poor and the needy from him that robbeth him? All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, even the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?All my bones say, `Jehovah, who is like Thee, Delivering the poor from the stronger than he, And the poor and needy from his plunderer.`
Psalms 35:11Extend thy mercy to them that know thee, and thy justice to them that are right in heart.Unrighteous witnesses rise up; They ask me of things that I know not. False witnesses arose; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.Violent witnesses rise up, That which I have not known they ask me.
Psalms 35:12Let not the foot of pride come to me, and let not the hand of the sinner move me.They reward me evil for good, [To] the bereaving of my soul. They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. They pay me evil for good, bereaving my soul,
Psalms 35:13There the workers of iniquity are fallen, they are cast out, and could not stand. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I afflicted my soul with fasting; And my prayer returned into mine own bosom. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom. And I in their sickness my clothing [is] sackcloth, I have humbled with fastings my soul, And my prayer unto my bosom returneth.
