| Psalms 59:1 | Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the inscription of a title, to David himself, for doctrine, | Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: Set me on high from them that rise up against me. | To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. | To the Overseer. `Destroy not,` by David. A secret treasure, in Saul`s sending, and they watch the house to put him to death. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God, From my withstanders set me on high. |
| Psalms 59:2 | when he set fire to Mesopotamia of Syria and Sobal and Joab returned and slew of Edom, in the vale of the saltpits, twelve thousand men. | Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from the bloodthirsty men. | Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. | Deliver me from workers of iniquity, And from men of blood save me. |
| Psalms 59:3 | O God, thou hast cast us off, and hast destroyed us; thou hast been angry, and hast had mercy on us. | For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah. | For lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. | For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah. |
| Psalms 59:4 | Thou hast moved the earth, and hast troubled it: heal thou the breaches thereof, for it has been moved. | They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold. | They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold. | Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see. |
| Psalms 59:5 | Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us drink wine of sorrow. | Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah | Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. | And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah. |
| Psalms 59:6 | Thou hast given a warning to them that fear thee: that they may flee from before the bow: That thy beloved may be delivered. | They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city. | They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go about the city. | They turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And go round about the city. |
| Psalms 59:7 | Save me with thy right hand, and hear me. | Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, [say they], doth hear? | Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? | Lo, they belch out with their mouths, Swords [are] in their lips, for `Who heareth?` |
| Psalms 59:8 | God hath spoken in his holy place: I will rejoice, and I will divide Sichem; and will mete out the vale of tabernacles. | But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision. | But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. | And Thou, O Jehovah dost laugh at them, Thou dost mock at all the nations. |
| Psalms 59:9 | Galaad is mine, and Manasses is mine: and Ephraim is the strength of my head. Juda is my king: | [Because of] his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower. | Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defense. | O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God [is] my tower the God of my kindness. |
| Psalms 59:10 | Moab is the pot of my hope. Into Edom will I stretch out my shoe: to me the foreigners are made subject. | My God with his lovingkindness will meet me: God will let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies. | The God of my mercy will succor me: God will let me see my desire upon my enemies. | God doth go before me, He causeth me to look on mine enemies. |
| Psalms 59:11 | Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? | Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield. | Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield. | Slay them not, lest my people forget, Shake them by Thy strength, And bring them down, O Lord our shield. |
| Psalms 59:12 | Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go out with our armies? | [For] the sin of their mouth, [and] the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, And for cursing and lying which they speak. | For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak. | The sin of their mouth [is] a word of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And from the curse and lying they recount. |
| Psalms 59:13 | Give us help from trouble: for vain is the salvation of man. | Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. Selah | Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah. | Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah. |
| Psalms 59:14 | Through God we shall do mightily: and he shall bring to nothing them that afflict us. | And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city. | And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go about the city. | And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city. |
