1st-Corinthians 7:1Now concerning the thing whereof you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1st-Corinthians 7:2But for fear of fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
1st-Corinthians 7:3Let the husband render the debt to his wife, and the wife also in like manner to the husband.Let the husband render unto the wife her due: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1st-Corinthians 7:4The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband. And in like manner the husband also hath not power of his own body, but the wife. The wife hath not power over her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power over his own body, but the wife.
1st-Corinthians 7:5Defraud not one another, except, perhaps, by consent, for a time, that you may give yourselves to prayer; and return together again, lest Satan tempt you for your incontinency.Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.
1st-Corinthians 7:6But I speak this by indulgence, not by commandment. But this I say by way of concession, not of commandment.
1st-Corinthians 7:7For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one hath his proper gift from God; one after this manner, and another after that.Yet I would that all men were even as I myself. Howbeit each man hath his own gift from God, one after this manner, and another after that.
1st-Corinthians 7:8But I say to the unmarried, and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I.But I say to the unmarried and to widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
1st-Corinthians 7:9But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt. But if they have not continency, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
1st-Corinthians 7:10But to them that are married, not I but the Lord commandeth, that the wife depart not from her husband. But unto the married I give charge, [yea] not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband
1st-Corinthians 7:11And if she depart, that she remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. And let not the husband put away his wife.(but should she depart, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband); and that the husband leave not his wife.
1st-Corinthians 7:12For to the rest I speak, not the Lord. If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she consent to dwell with him, let him not put her away. But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not leave her.
1st-Corinthians 7:13And if any woman hath a husband that believeth not, and he consent to dwell with her, let her not put away her husband. And the woman that hath an unbelieving husband, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband.
1st-Corinthians 7:14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife; and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the believing husband: otherwise your children should be unclean; but now they are holy. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
1st-Corinthians 7:15But if the unbeliever depart, let him depart. For a brother or sister is not under servitude in such cases. But God hath called us in peace.Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such [cases]: but God hath called us in peace.
1st-Corinthians 7:16For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband ? Or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife ?For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? Or how knowest thou, O husband, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
1st-Corinthians 7:17But as the Lord hath distributed to every one, as God hath called every one, so let him walk: and so in all churches I teach.Only, as the Lord hath distributed to each man, as God hath called each, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all the churches.
1st-Corinthians 7:18Is any man called, being circumcised ? let him not procure uncircumcision. Is any man called in uncircumcision ? let him not be circumcised. Was any man called being circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Hath any been called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised.
1st-Corinthians 7:19Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing: but the observance of the commandments of God.Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but the keeping of the commandments of God.
1st-Corinthians 7:20Let every man abide in the same calling in which he was called.Let each man abide in that calling wherein he was called.
1st-Corinthians 7:21Wast thou called, being a bondman ? care not for it; but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.Wast thou called being a bondservant? Care not for it: nay, even if thou canst become free, use [it] rather.
1st-Corinthians 7:22For he that is called in the Lord, being a bondman, is the freeman of the Lord. Likewise he that is called, being free, is the bondman of Christ. For he that was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lord's freedman: likewise he that was called being free, is Christ's bondservant.
1st-Corinthians 7:23You are bought with a price; be not made the bondslaves of men.Ye were bought with a price; become not bondservants of men.
1st-Corinthians 7:24Brethren, let every man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God.Brethren, let each man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God.
1st-Corinthians 7:25Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give counsel, as having obtained mercy of the Lord, to be faithful. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be trustworthy.
1st-Corinthians 7:26I think therefore that this is good for the present necessity, that it is good for a man so to be.I think therefore that this is good by reason of the distress that is upon us, [namely,] that it is good for a man to be as he is.
1st-Corinthians 7:27Art thou bound to a wife ? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife ? seek not a wife.Art thou bound unto a wife? Seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? Seek not a wife.
1st-Corinthians 7:28But if thou take a wife, thou hast not sinned. And if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned: nevertheless, such shall have tribulation of the flesh. But I spare you.But shouldest thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Yet such shall have tribulation in the flesh: and I would spare you.
1st-Corinthians 7:29This therefore I say, brethren; the time is short; it remaineth, that they also who have wives, be as if they had none;But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened, that henceforth both those that have wives may be as though they had none;
1st-Corinthians 7:30And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as if they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;and those that weep, as though they wept not; and those that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and those that buy, as though they possessed not;
1st-Corinthians 7:31And they that use this world, as if they used it not: for the fashion of this world passeth away.and those that use the world, as not using it to the full: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
1st-Corinthians 7:32But I would have you to be without solicitude. He that is without a wife, is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please God.But I would have you to be free from cares. He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
1st-Corinthians 7:33But he that is with a wife, is solicitous for the things of the world, how he may please his wife: and he is divided.but he that is married is careful for the things of the world, how he may please his wife,
1st-Corinthians 7:34And the unmarried woman and the virgin thinketh on the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she that is married thinketh on the things of the world, how she may please her husband.and is divided. [So] also the woman that is unmarried and the virgin is careful for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married is careful for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
1st-Corinthians 7:35And this I speak for your profit: not to cast a snare upon you; but for that which is decent, and which may give you power to attend upon the Lord, without impediment. And this I say for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
1st-Corinthians 7:36But if any man think that he seemeth dishonoured, with regard to his virgin, for that she is above the age, and it must so be: let him do what he will; he sinneth not, if she marry. But if any man thinketh that he behaveth himself unseemly toward his virgin [daughter], if she be past the flower of her age, and if need so requireth, let him do what he will; he sinneth not; let them marry.
1st-Corinthians 7:37For he that hath determined being steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but having power of his own will; and hath judged this in his heart, to keep his virgin, doth well. But he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power as touching in his own heart, to keep his own virgin [daughter], shall do well.
1st-Corinthians 7:38Therefore, both he that giveth his virgin in marriage, doth well; and he that giveth her not, doth better. So then both he that giveth his own virgin [daughter] in marriage doeth well; and he that giveth her not in marriage shall do better.
1st-Corinthians 7:39A woman is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband die, she is at liberty: let her marry to whom she will; only in the Lord.A wife is bound for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
1st-Corinthians 7:40But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel; and I think that I also have the spirit of God.But she is happier if she abide as she is, after my judgment: and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.
