Psalms 37:1A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath.Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.
Psalms 37:2Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.
Psalms 37:3For thy arrows are fastened in me : and thy hand hath been strong upon me.Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on [his] faithfulness.
Psalms 37:4There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath : there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.Delight thyself also in Jehovah; And he will give thee the desires of thy heart.
Psalms 37:5For my iniquities are gone over my head : and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.
Psalms 37:6My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness. And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noon-day.
Psalms 37:7I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end : I walked sorrowful all the day long.Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psalms 37:8For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself, [it tendeth] only to evil-doing.
Psalms 37:9I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly : I roared with the groaning of my heart. For evil-doers shall be cut off; But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the land.
Psalms 37:10Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.
Psalms 37:11My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.But the meek shall inherit the land, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalms 37:12My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off :The wicked plotteth against the just, And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
Psalms 37:13And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long. The Lord will laugh at him; For he seeth that his day is coming.
Psalms 37:14But I, as a deaf man, heard not : and as a dumb man not opening his mouth. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay such as are upright in the way.
Psalms 37:15And I became as a man that heareth not : and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.Their sword shall enter into their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.
Psalms 37:16For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped : thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked.
Psalms 37:17For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me : and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.
Psalms 37:18For I am ready for scourges : and my sorrow is continually before me.Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever.
Psalms 37:19For I will declare my inequity : and I will think for my sin. They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Psalms 37:20But my enemies live, and are stronger that I : and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied. But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; In smoke shall they consume away.
Psalms 37:21They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.
Psalms 37:22Forsake me not, O Lord my God : do not thou depart from me.For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land; And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.
Psalms 37:23Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.A man's goings are established of Jehovah; And he delighteth in his way.
