Psalms 4:1Unto the end, in verses. A psalm of David.Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness; Thou hast set me at large [when I was] in distress: Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
Psalms 4:2When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor? [How long] will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah
Psalms 4:3O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?But know that Jehovah hath set apart for himself him that is godly: Jehovah will hear when I call unto him.
Psalms 4:4Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.Stand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah
Psalms 4:5Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in Jehovah.
Psalms 4:6Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?Many there are that say, Who will show us [any] good? Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
Psalms 4:7The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than [they have] when their grain and their new wine are increased.
Psalms 4:8By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; For thou, Jehovah, alone makest me dwell in safety. Psalm 5 For the Chief Musician; with the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David.
Psalms 4:9In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest:
Psalms 4:10for thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
