Psalms 48:1Unto the end, a psalm for the sons of Core.Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
Psalms 48:2Hear these things, all ye nations: give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world.Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, The city of the great King.
Psalms 48:3All you that are earthborn, and you sons of men: both rich and poor together.God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.
Psalms 48:4My mouth shall speak wisdom: and the meditation of my heart understanding.For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.
Psalms 48:5I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my proposition on the psaltery.They saw it, then were they amazed; They were dismayed, they hasted away.
Psalms 48:6Why shall I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall encompass me.Trembling took hold of them there, Pain, as of a woman in travail.
Psalms 48:7They that trust in their own strength, and glory in the multitude of their riches,With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
Psalms 48:8No brother can redeem, nor shall man redeem: he shall not give to God his ransom,As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of Jehovah of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah
Psalms 48:9Nor the price of the redemption of his soul: and shall labour for ever,We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of thy temple.
Psalms 48:10and shall still live unto the end.As is thy name, O God, So is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Psalms 48:11He shall not see destruction, when he shall see the wise dying: the senseless and the fool shall perish together: And they shall leave their riches to strangers:Let mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice, Because of thy judgments.
Psalms 48:12and their sepulchres shall be their houses for ever. Their dwelling places to all generations: they have called their lands by their names.Walk about Zion, and go round about her; Number the towers thereof;
Psalms 48:13And man when he was in honour did not understand; he is compared to senseless beasts, and is become like to them.Mark ye well her bulwarks; Consider her palaces: That ye may tell it to the generation following.
Psalms 48:14This way of theirs is a stumblingblock to them: and afterwards they shall delight in their mouth.For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide [even] unto death. Psalm 49 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
Psalms 48:15They are laid in hell like sheep: death shall feed upon them. And the just shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their help shall decay in hell from their glory.
Psalms 48:16But God will redeem my soul from the hand of hell, when he shall receive me.
Psalms 48:17Be not thou afraid, when a man shall be made rich, and when the glory of his house shall be increased.
Psalms 48:18For when he shall die he shall take nothing away; nor shall his glory descend with him.
Psalms 48:19For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise thee when thou shalt do well to him.
Psalms 48:20He shall go in to the generations of his fathers: and he shall never see light.
Psalms 48:21Man when he was in honour did not understand: he hath been compared to senseless beasts, and made like to them.
