Psalms 71:1A psalm on Solomon. In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. In thee, Jehovah, do I trust: let me never be ashamed.
Psalms 71:2Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.Keep me safe in your righteousness, and come to my help; give ear to my voice, and be my saviour.Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
Psalms 71:3Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice.Be my strong Rock, the strong place of my salvation; for you are my Rock, and my safe place.Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.Be to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
Psalms 71:4He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor.O my God, take me out of the hand of the sinner, out of the hand of the evil and cruel man.Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.My God, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Psalms 71:5And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations. For you are my hope, O Lord God; I have had faith in you from the time when I was young. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah, my confidence from my youth.
Psalms 71:6He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth. You have been my support from the day of my birth; you took me out of my mother's body; my praise will be ever of you.By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.On thee have I been stayed from the womb; from the bowels of my mother thou didst draw me forth: my praise shall be continually of thee.
Psalms 71:7In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway.I am a wonder to all; but you are my strong tower.I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.I have been as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
Psalms 71:8And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. My mouth will be full of your praise and glory all the day.Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.My mouth shall be filled with thy praise, with thy glory, all the day.
Psalms 71:9Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.Do not give me up when I am old; be my help even when my strength is gone.Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Psalms 71:10The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:For my haters are waiting secretly for me; and those who are watching for my soul are banded together in their evil designs,For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, For mine enemies speak against me, and they that watch for my soul consult together,
Psalms 71:11And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him.Saying, God has given him up; go after him and take him, for he has no helper.Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.Saying, God hath forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver.
Psalms 71:12For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.O God, be not far from me; O my God, come quickly to my help.O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. O God, be not far from me; my God, hasten to my help.
Psalms 71:13He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.Let those who say evil against my soul be overcome and put to shame; let my haters be made low and have no honour.Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. Let them be ashamed, let them be consumed, that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
Psalms 71:14He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight. But I will go on ever hoping, and increasing in all your praise. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise thee yet more and more.
Psalms 71:15And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day.My mouth will make clear your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for they are more than may be measured. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. My mouth shall declare thy righteousness, [and] thy salvation all the day: for I know not the numbers [thereof].
Psalms 71:16And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.I will give news of the great acts of the Lord God; my words will be of your righteousness, and of yours only.I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.I will go in the might of the Lord Jehovah; I will recall thy righteousness, thine alone.
Psalms 71:17Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him.O God, you have been my teacher from the time when I was young; and I have been talking of your works of wonder even till now.O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and hitherto have I proclaimed thy marvellous works:
Psalms 71:18Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things. Now when I am old and grey-headed, O God, give me not up; till I have made clear your strength to this generation, and your power to all those to come. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. Now also, when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not, until I have proclaimed thine arm unto [this] generation, thy might to every one that is to come.
Psalms 71:19And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it.Your righteousness, O God, is very high; you have done great things; O God, who is like you?Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! And thy righteousness, O God, reacheth on high, thou who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee?
Psalms 71:20The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.You, who have sent great and bitter troubles on me, will give me life again, lifting me up from the deep waters of the underworld.Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.Thou, who hast shewn us many and sore troubles, wilt revive us again, and wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth;
