Job 18:1Then Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:Then Bildad the Shuhite made answer and said,Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
Job 18:2How long will you throw out words? understand first, and so let us speak.How long will it be before you have done talking? Get wisdom, and then we will say what is in our minds."How long will you hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.How long will ye hunt for words? Be intelligent, and then we will speak.
Job 18:3Why are we reputed as beasts, and counted vile before you?Why do we seem as beasts in your eyes, and as completely without knowledge?Why are we counted as animals, Which have become unclean in your sight?Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed stupid in your sight?
Job 18:4Thou that destroyest thy soul in thy fury, shall the earth be forsaken for thee, and shall rocks be removed out of their place?But come back, now, come: you who are wounding yourself in your passion, will the earth be given up because of you, or a rock be moved out of its place?You who tear yourself in your anger, Shall the earth be forsaken for you? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Job 18:5Shall not the light of the wicked be extinguished, and the flame of his fire not shine?For the light of the sinner is put out, and the flame of his fire is not shining."Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put out, The spark of his fire shall not shine.Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine.
Job 18:6The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him, shall be put out.The light is dark in his tent, and the light shining over him is put out.The light shall be dark in his tent, His lamp above him shall be put out.The light shall become dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
Job 18:7The step of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down headlong.The steps of his strength become short, and by his design destruction overtakes him.The steps of his strength shall be shortened, His own counsel shall cast him down.The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
Job 18:8For he hath thrust his feet into a net, and walketh in its meshes.His feet take him into the net, and he goes walking into the cords.For he is cast into a net by his own feet, And he wanders into its mesh.For he is sent into the net by his own feet, and he walketh on the meshes;
Job 18:9The sole of his foot shall be held in a snare, and thirst shall burn against him.His foot is taken in the net; he comes into its grip.A snare shall take him by the heel; A trap shall lay hold on him.The gin taketh [him] by the heel, the snare layeth hold on him;
Job 18:10A gin is hidden for him in the earth, and his trap upon the path.The twisted cord is put secretly in the earth to take him, and the cord is placed in his way.A noose is hidden for him in the ground, A trap for him in the way.A cord is hidden for him in the ground, and his trap in the way.
Job 18:11Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.He is overcome by fears on every side, they go after him at every step.Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, And shall chase him at his heels.Terrors make him afraid on every side, and chase him at his footsteps.
Job 18:12Let his strength be wasted with famine, and let hunger invade his ribs.His strength is made feeble for need of food, and destruction is waiting for his falling footstep.His strength shall be famished, Calamity shall be ready at his side.His strength is hunger-bitten, and calamity is ready at his side.
Job 18:13Let it devour the beauty of his skin, let the firstborn death consume his arms.His skin is wasted by disease, and his body is food for the worst of diseases.The members of his body shall be devoured, The firstborn of death shall devour his members.The firstborn of death devoureth the members of his body; it will devour his members.
Job 18:14Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle, and let destruction tread upon him like a king.He is pulled out of his tent where he was safe, and he is taken away to the king of fears.He shall be rooted out of his tent where he trusts. He shall be brought to the king of terrors.His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and it shall lead him away to the king of terrors:
Job 18:15Let the companions of him that is not, dwell in his tabernacle, let brimstone be sprinkled in his tent.In his tent will be seen that which is not his, burning stone is dropped on his house.There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his. Sulfur shall be scattered on his habitation.They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be showered upon his habitation:
Job 18:16Let his roots be dried up beneath, and his harvest destroyed above.Under the earth his roots are dry, and over it his branch is cut off.His roots shall be dried up beneath, Above shall his branch be cut off.His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off;
Job 18:17Let the memory of him perish from the earth and let not his name be renowned in the streets.His memory is gone from the earth, and in the open country there is no knowledge of his name.His memory shall perish from the earth. He shall have no name in the street.His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name on the pasture-grounds.
Job 18:18He shall drive him out of light into darkness, and shall remove him out of the world.He is sent away from the light into the dark; he is forced out of the world.He shall be driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
Job 18:19His seed shall not subsist, nor his offspring among his people, nor any remnants in his country.He has no offspring or family among his people, and in his living-place there is no one of his name.He shall have neither son nor grandson among his people, Nor any remaining where he sojourned.He hath neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining in the places of his sojourn.
Job 18:20They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, and horror shall fall upon them that went before.At his fate those of the west are shocked, and those of the east are overcome with fear.Those who come after shall be astonished at his day, As those who went before were frightened.They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before [them] were affrighted.
Job 18:21These men are the tabernacles of the wicked, and this the place of him that knoweth not God.Truly, these are the houses of the sinner, and this is the place of him who has no knowledge of God.Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous, This is the place of him who doesn't know God."Surely, such are the dwellings of the unrighteous man, and such the place of him that knoweth not ùGod.
