Job 9:1And Job answered, and said:And Job made answer and said,Then Job answered,And Job answered and said,
Job 9:2Indeed I know it is so, and that man cannot be justified compared withTruly, I see that it is so: and how is it possible for a man to get his right before God?"Truly I know that it is so, But how can man be just with God?Of a truth I know it is so; but how can man be just with ùGod?
Job 9:3If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one for a thousand.If a man was desiring to go to law with him, he would not be able to give him an answer to one out of a thousand questions.If he is pleased to contend with him, He can't answer him one time in a thousand.If he shall choose to strive with him, he cannot answer him one thing of a thousand.
Job 9:4He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath resisted him, and hath had peace ?He is wise in heart and great in strength: who ever made his face hard against him, and any good came of it?God who is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: Who has hardened himself against him, and prospered?He is wise in heart and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and had peace?
Job 9:5Who hath removed mountains, and they whom he overthrew in his wrath, knew it not.It is he who takes away the mountains without their knowledge, overturning them in his wrath:Who removes the mountains, and they don't know it, When he overturns them in his angerWho removeth mountains, and they know it not, when he overturneth them in his anger;
Job 9:6Who shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.Who is moving the earth out of its place, so that its pillars are shaking:Who shakes the earth out of its place; The pillars of it tremble;Who shaketh the earth out of its place, and the pillars thereof tremble;
Job 9:7Who commandeth tile sun and it riseth not: and shutteth up the stars as it were under a seal:Who gives orders to the sun, and it does not give its light; and who keeps the stars from shining.Who commands the sun, and it doesn't rise, And seals up the stars;Who commandeth the sun, and it riseth not, and he sealeth up the stars;
Job 9:8Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and walketh upon the waves of the sea.By whose hand the heavens were stretched out, and who is walking on the waves of the sea:Who alone stretches out the heavens, Treads on the waves of the sea;Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the high waves of the sea;
Job 9:9Who maketh Arcturus, and Orion, and Hyades, and the inner parts of the south.Who made the Bear and Orion, and the Pleiades, and the store-houses of the south:Who makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the chambers of the south;Who maketh the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south;
Job 9:10Who doth things great and incomprehensible, and wonderful, of which there is no number.Who does great things not to be searched out; yes, wonders without number.Who does great things past finding out, Yes, marvelous things without number.Who doeth great things past finding out, and wonders without number.
Job 9:11If he come to me, I shall not see him: if he depart I shall not understand.See, he goes past me and I see him not: he goes on before, but I have no knowledge of him.Behold, he goes by me, and I don't see him. He passes on also, but I don't perceive him.Lo, he goeth by me, and I see [him] not; and he passeth along, and I perceive him not.
Job 9:12If he examine on a sudden, who shall answer him? or who can say: Why dost thou so?If he puts out his hand to take, by whom may it be turned back? who may say to him, What are you doing?Behold, he snatches away; who can hinder him? Who will ask him, 'What are you doing?'Behold, he taketh away: who will hinder him? Who will say unto him, What doest thou?
Job 9:13God, whose wrath no mall can resist, and under whom they stoop that bear up the world.God's wrath may not be turned back; the helpers of Rahab were bent down under him."God will not withdraw his anger; The helpers of Rahab stoop under him.+God withdraweth not his anger; the proud helpers stoop under him:
Job 9:14What am I then, that I should answer him, and have words with him?How much less may I give an answer to him, using the right words in argument with him?How much less shall I answer him, Choose my words to argue with him?How much less shall I answer him, choose out my words [to strive] with him?
Job 9:15I, who although I should have any just thing, would not answer, but would make supplication to my judge.Even if my cause was good, I would not be able to give an answer; I would make request for grace from him who was against me.Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer. I would make supplication to my judge.Whom, though I were righteous, [yet] would I not answer; I would make supplication to my judge.
Job 9:16And if he should hear me when I call, I should not believe that he had heard my voice.If I had sent for him to be present, and he had come, I would have no faith that he would give ear to my voice.If I had called, and he had answered me, Yet would I not believe that he listened to my voice.If I had called, and he had answered me, I would not believe that he hearkened to my voice,
Job 9:17For he shall crush me in a whirlwind, and multiply my wounds even without cause.For I would be crushed by his storm, my wounds would be increased without cause.For he breaks me with a tempest, Multiplies my wounds without cause.He, who crusheth me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
Job 9:18He alloweth not my spirit to rest, and he filleth me with bitterness.He would not let me take my breath, but I would be full of bitter grief.He will not allow me to take my breath, But fills me with bitterness.He suffereth me not to take my breath, for he filleth me with bitternesses.
Job 9:19If strength be demanded, he is most strong: if equity of judgment, no man dare bear witness for me.If it is a question of strength, he says, Here I am! and if it is a question of a cause at law, he says, Who will give me a fixed day?If it is a matter of strength, behold, he is mighty! If of justice, 'Who,' says he, 'will summon me?'Be it a question of strength, lo, [he is] strong; and be it of judgment, who will set me a time?
Job 9:20If I would justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me: if I would shew myself innocent, he shall prove me wicked.Though I was in the right, he would say that I was in the wrong; I have done no evil; but he says that I am a sinner.Though I am righteous, my own mouth shall condemn me. Though I am blameless, it shall prove me perverse.If I justified myself, mine own mouth would condemn me; were I perfect, he would prove me perverse.
Job 9:21Although I should be simple, even this my soul shall be ignorant of, and I shall be weary of my life.I have done no wrong; I give no thought to what becomes of me; I have no desire for life.I am blameless. I don't regard myself. I despise my life.Were I perfect, [yet] would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
Job 9:22One thing there is that I have spoken, both the innocent and the wicked he consumeth.It is all the same to me; so I say, He puts an end to the sinner and to him who has done no wrong together."It is all the same. Therefore I say, He destroys the blameless and the wicked.It is all one; therefore I said, he destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
Job 9:23If he scourge, let him kill at once, and not laugh at the pains of the innocent.If death comes suddenly through disease, he makes sport of the fate of those who have done no wrong.If the scourge kills suddenly, He will mock at the trial of the innocent.If the scourge kill suddenly, he mocketh at the trial of the innocent.
Job 9:24The earth is given into the hand of the wicked, he covereth the face of the judges thereof: and if it be not he, who is it then?The land is given into the power of the evil-doer; the faces of its judges are covered; if not by him, then who has done it?The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of the judges of it. If not he, then who is it?The earth is given over into the hand of the wicked [man]; he covereth the faces of its judges. If not, who then is it?
Job 9:25My days have been swifter than a post: they have fled away and have not seen good.My days go quicker than a post-runner: they go in flight, they see no good."Now my days are swifter than a runner. They flee away, they see no good,And my days are swifter than a runner: they flee away, they see no good.
Job 9:26They have passed by as ships carrying fruits, as an eagle flying to the prey.They go rushing on like reed-boats, like an eagle dropping suddenly on its food.They have passed away as the swift ships, As the eagle that swoops on the prey.They pass by like skiffs of reed; as an eagle that swoops upon the prey.
Job 9:27If I say: I will not speak so: I change my face, and am tormented with sorrow.If I say, I will put my grief out of mind, I will let my face be sad no longer and I will be bright;If I say, 'I will forget my complaint, I will put off my sad face, and cheer up;'If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my [sad] countenance, and brighten up,
Job 9:28I feared all my works, knowing that thou didst not spare the offender.I go in fear of all my pains; I am certain that I will not be free from sin in your eyes.I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that you will not hold me innocent.I am afraid of all my sorrows; I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
Job 9:29But if so also I am wicked, why have I laboured in vain?You will not let me be clear of sin! why then do I take trouble for nothing?I shall be condemned; Why then do I labor in vain?Be it that I am wicked, why then do I labour in vain?
Job 9:30If I be washed as it were with snow waters, and my hands shall shine ever so clean :If I am washed with snow water, and make my hands clean with soap;If I wash myself with snow, And cleanse my hands with lye,If I washed myself with snow-water, and cleansed my hands in purity,
Job 9:31Yet thou shalt plunge me in filth, and my garments shall abhor me,Then you will have me pushed into the dust, so that I will seem disgusting to my very clothing.Yet you will plunge me in the ditch. My own clothes shall abhor me.Then wouldest thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes would abhor me.
Job 9:32For I shall not answer a man that is like myself: nor one that may be heard with me equally in judgment.For he is not a man as I am, that I might give him an answer, that we might come together before a judge.For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, That we should come together in judgment.For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him; that we should come together in judgment.
Job 9:33There is none that may be able to reprove both, and to put his hand between both.There is no one to give a decision between us, who might have control over us.There is no umpire between us, That might lay his hand on us both.There is not an umpire between us, who should lay his hand upon us both.
Job 9:34Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me.Let him take away his rod from me and not send his fear on me:Let him take his rod away from me, Let his terror not make me afraid:Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his terror make me afraid,
Job 9:35I will speak, and will not fear him: for I cannot answer while I am in fear.Then I would say what is in my mind without fear of him; for there is no cause of fear in myself.Then I would speak, and not fear him, For I am not so in myself.[Then] I will speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.
