Proverbs 10:3The Lord will not afflict the soul of the just with famine, and he will disappoint the deceitful practices of the wicked. The Lord will not let the upright be in need of food, but he puts far from him the desire of the evil-doers.Yahweh will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.Jehovah suffereth not the soul of the righteous [man] to famish; but he repelleth the craving of the wicked.
Proverbs 10:4The slothful hand hath wrought poverty: but the hand of the industrious getteth riches. He that trusteth to lies feedeth the winds: and the same runneth after birds that fly away.He who is slow in his work becomes poor, but the hand of the ready worker gets in wealth. He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, But the hand of the diligent brings wealth. He cometh to want that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Proverbs 10:5He that gathered in the harvest is a wise son: but he that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion. He who in summer gets together his store is a son who does wisely; but he who takes his rest when the grain is being cut is a son causing shame. He who gathers in summer is a wise son, But he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Proverbs 10:6The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but iniquity covereth the mouth of the wicked.Blessings are on the head of the upright, but the face of sinners will be covered with sorrow.Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.Blessings are upon the head of a righteous [man]; but the mouth of the wicked covereth violence.
Proverbs 10:7The memory of the just is with praises: and the name of the wicked shall rot.The memory of the upright is a blessing, but the name of the evil-doer will be turned to dust. The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.The memory of the righteous [man] shall be blessed; but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Proverbs 10:8The wise of heart receiveth precepts: a fool is beaten with lips. The wise-hearted man will let himself be ruled, but the man whose talk is foolish will have a fall. The wise in heart accept commandments, But a chattering fool will fall. The wise in heart receiveth commandments; but a prating fool shall fall.
Proverbs 10:9He that walketh sincerely, walketh confidently: but he that perverteth his ways, shall be manifest. He whose ways are upright will go safely, but he whose ways are twisted will be made low.He who walks blamelessly walks surely, But he who perverts his ways will be found out.He that walketh in integrity walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
Proverbs 10:10He that winketh with the eye shall cause sorrow: and the foolish in lips shall be beaten. He who makes signs with his eyes is a cause of trouble, but he who makes a man see his errors is a cause of peace. One winking with the eye causes sorrow, But a chattering fool will fall.He that winketh with the eye causeth grief, and a prating fool shall fall.
Proverbs 10:11The mouth of the just is a vein of life: and the mouth of the wicked covereth iniquity. The mouth of the upright man is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the evil-doer is a bitter cup.The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. The mouth of a righteous [man] is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked covereth violence.
Proverbs 10:12Hatred stirreth up strifes: and charity covereth all sins.Hate is a cause of violent acts, but all errors are covered up by love.Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all wrongs.Hatred stirreth up strifes; but love covereth all transgressions.
Proverbs 10:13In the lips of the wise is wisdom found: and a rod on the back of him that wanteth sense. In the lips of him who has knowledge wisdom is seen; but a rod is ready for the back of him who is without sense.Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding. In the lips of an intelligent [man] wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Proverbs 10:14Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the fool is next to confusion.Knowledge is stored up by the wise, but the mouth of the foolish man is a destruction which is near.Wise men lay up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near ruin. The wise lay up knowledge; but the mouth of the fool is near destruction.
Proverbs 10:15The substance of a rich man is the city of his strength: the fear of the poor is their poverty. The property of the man of wealth is his strong town: the poor man's need is his destruction. The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty. The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
Proverbs 10:16The work of the just is unto life: but the fruit of the wicked, unto sin.The work of the upright gives life: the increase of the evil-doer is a cause of sin.The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.The labour of a righteous [man] [tendeth] to life; the revenue of a wicked [man], to sin.
Proverbs 10:17The way of life, to him that observeth correction: but he that forsaketh reproofs goeth astray. He who takes note of teaching is a way of life, but he who gives up training is a cause of error. He is in the way of life who heeds correction, But he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.Keeping instruction is the path to life; but he that forsaketh reproof goeth astray.
Proverbs 10:18Lying lips hide hatred: he that uttereth reproach is foolish.Hate is covered up by the lips of the upright man, but he who lets out evil about another is foolish. He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.He that covereth hatred hath lying lips, and he that sendeth forth a slander is a fool.
Proverbs 10:19In the multitude of words there shall not want sin: but he that refraineth his lips is most wise.Where there is much talk there will be no end to sin, but he who keeps his mouth shut does wisely. In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, But he who restrains his lips does wisely. In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; but he that restraineth his lips doeth wisely.
Proverbs 10:20The tongue of the just is as choice silver: but the heart of the wicked is nothing worth. The tongue of the upright man is like tested silver: the heart of the evil-doer is of little value. The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth. The tongue of the righteous [man] is [as] choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth.
Proverbs 10:21The lips of the just teach many: but they that are ignorant, shall die in the want of understanding. The lips of the upright man give food to men, but the foolish come to death for need of sense. The lips of the righteous feed many, But the foolish die for lack of understanding. The lips of a righteous [man] feed many; but fools die for want of understanding.

Proverbs 10:23A fool worketh mischief as it were for sport: but wisdom is prudence to a man.It is sport to the foolish man to do evil, but the man of good sense takes delight in wisdom. It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness, But wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure. It is as sport to a foolish [man] to do wickedness; but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
Proverbs 10:24That which the wicked feareth, shall come upon him: to the just their desire shall be given. The thing feared by the evil-doer will come to him, but the upright man will get his desire. What the wicked fear, will overtake them, But the desire of the righteous will be granted. The fear of a wicked [man], it shall come upon him; but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Proverbs 10:25As a tempest that passeth, so the wicked shall be no more: but the just is as an everlasting foundation. When the storm-wind is past, the sinner is seen no longer, but the upright man is safe for ever. When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation. As a whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no [more]; but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
Proverbs 10:26As vinegar to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that sent him.Like acid drink to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, so is the hater of work to those who send him.As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to those who send him.As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

Proverbs 10:29The strength of the upright is the way of the Lord: and fear to them that work evil. The way of the Lord is a strong tower for the upright man, but destruction to the workers of evil. The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. The way of Jehovah is strength to the perfect [man], but destruction to the workers of iniquity.
Proverbs 10:30The just shall never be moved: but the wicked shall not dwell on the earth. The upright man will never be moved, but evil-doers will not have a safe resting-place in the land. The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not dwell in the land. The righteous [man] shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land.
Proverbs 10:31The mouth of the just shall bring forth wisdom: the tongue of the perverse shall perish. The mouth of the upright man is budding with wisdom, but the twisted tongue will be cut off.The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut off.The mouth of a righteous [man] putteth forth wisdom; but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
Proverbs 10:32The lips of the just consider what is acceptable: and the mouth of the wicked uttereth perverse things. The lips of the upright man have knowledge of what is pleasing, but twisted are the mouths of evil-doers.The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked is perverse. The lips of a righteous [man] know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is frowardness.
