Proverbs 9:1Wisdom hath built herself a house, she hath hewn her out seven pillars.Wisdom has made her house, putting up her seven pillars.Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.Wisdom hath built her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars;
Proverbs 9:2She hath slain her victims, mingled her wine, and set forth her table.She has put her fat beasts to death; her wine is mixed, her table is ready.She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.she hath slaughtered her cattle, she hath mingled her wine, she hath also prepared her table;
Proverbs 9:3She hath sent her maids to invite to the tower, and to the walls of the city:She has sent out her women-servants; her voice goes out to the highest places of the town, saying,She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:she hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the summits of the high places of the city,
Proverbs 9:4Whosoever is a little one, let him come to me. And to the unwise she said:Whoever is simple, let him come in here; and to him who has no sense, she says:"Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. To him that is void of understanding, she saith,
Proverbs 9:5Come, eat my bread, and drink the wine which I have mingled for you.Come, take of my bread, and of my wine which is mixed."Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!Come, eat ye of my bread, and drink of the wine that I have mingled.
Proverbs 9:6Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence.Give up the simple ones and have life, and go in the way of knowledge.Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding."Forsake follies and live, and go in the way of intelligence.
Proverbs 9:7He that teacheth a scorner, doth an injury to himself: and he that rebuketh a wicked man, getteth himself a blot.He who gives teaching to a man of pride gets shame for himself; he who says sharp words to a sinner gets a bad name.He who corrects a mocker invites insult. He who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.He that instructeth a scorner getteth to himself shame; and he that reproveth a wicked [man] [getteth] to himself a blot.
Proverbs 9:8Rebuke not a scorner lest he hate thee. Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.Do not say sharp words to a man of pride, or he will have hate for you; make them clear to a wise man, and you will be dear to him.Don't reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you.Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee; reprove a wise [man], and he will love thee.
Proverbs 9:9Give an occasion to a wise man, and wisdom shall be added to him. Teach a just man, and he shall make haste to receive it.Give teaching to a wise man, and he will become wiser; give training to an upright man, and his learning will be increased.Instruct a wise man, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.Impart to a wise [man], and he will become yet wiser; teach a righteous [man], and he will increase learning.
Proverbs 9:10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is prudence.The fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One gives a wise mindThe fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy is intelligence.
Proverbs 9:11For by me shall thy days be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee.For by me your days will be increased, and the years of your life will be long.For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee.
Proverbs 9:12If thou be wise, thou shalt be so to thyself: and if a scorner, thou alone shalt bear the evil.If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if your heart is full of pride, you only will have the pain of it.If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.If thou art wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself; and if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
Proverbs 9:13A foolish woman and clamorous, and full of allurements, and knowing nothing at all,The foolish woman is full of noise; she has no sense at all.The foolish woman is loud, Undisciplined, and knows nothing.The foolish woman is clamorous; she is stupid, and knoweth nothing.
Proverbs 9:14Sat at the door of her house, upon a seat, in a high place of the city,Seated at the door of her house, in the high places of the town,She sits at the door of her house, On a seat in the high places of the city,And she sitteth at the entry of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
Proverbs 9:15To call them that pass by the way, and go on their journey:Crying out to those who go by, going straight on their way, she says:To call to those who pass by, Who go straight on their ways,to call passers-by who go right on their ways:
Proverbs 9:16He that is a little one, let him turn to me. And to the fool she said:Whoever is simple, let him come in here: and to him who is without sense, she says:"Whoever is simple, let him turn in here." As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. And to him that is void of understanding she saith,
Proverbs 9:17Stolen waters are sweeter, and hid den bread is more pleasant.Drink taken without right is sweet, and food in secret is pleasing."Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant."Stolen waters are sweet, and the bread of secrecy is pleasant.
Proverbs 9:18And he did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell. The Parables of SolomonBut he does not see that the dead are there, that her guests are in the deep places of the underworld.But he doesn't know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.But he knoweth not that the dead are there; [that] her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
