Psalms 16:1The prayer of David. Hear, O Lord, my justice: attend to my supplication. Give ear unto my prayer, which proceedeth not from deceitful lips.<Michtam. Of David.> Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith.Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.{Michtam of David.} Preserve me, O ùGod: for I trust in thee.
Psalms 16:2Let my judgment come forth from thy countenance: let thy eyes behold the things that are equitable.O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you.My soul, you have said to Yahweh, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."Thou [my soul] hast said to Jehovah, Thou art the Lord: my goodness [extendeth] not to thee;
Psalms 16:3Thou hast proved my heart, and visited it by night, thou hast tried me by fire: and iniquity hath not been found in me.As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight.As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.To the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent [thou hast said], In them is all my delight.
Psalms 16:4That my mouth may not speak the works of men: for the sake of the words of thy lips, I have kept hard ways.Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips.Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take their names on my lips.Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another: their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, and I will not take up their names into my lips.
Psalms 16:5Perfect thou my goings in thy paths: that my footsteps be not moved.The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right.Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Psalms 16:6I have cried to thee, for thou, O God, hast heard me: O incline thy ear unto me, and hear my words.Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage.The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance.The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Psalms 16:7Shew forth thy wonderful mercies; thou who savest them that trust in thee.I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night.I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.I will bless Jehovah, who giveth me counsel; even in the nights my reins instruct me.
Psalms 16:8From them that resist thy right hand keep me, as the apple of thy eye. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings.I have put the Lord before me at all times; because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved.I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.I have set Jehovah continually before me; because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Psalms 16:9From the face of the wicked who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul:Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope.Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.Therefore my heart rejoiceth, and my glory exulteth; my flesh moreover shall dwell in hope.
Psalms 16:10they have shut up their fat: their mouth hath spoken proudly.For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death.For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, Neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption.
Psalms 16:11They have cast me forth and now they have surrounded me: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth.You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever.You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 17 A Prayer by David.Thou wilt make known to me the path of life: thy countenance is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Psalms 16:12They have taken me, as a lion prepared for the prey; and as a young lion dwelling in secret places.
Psalms 16:13Arise, O Lord, disappoint him and supplant him; deliver my soul from the wicked one: thy sword
Psalms 16:14from the enemies of thy hand. O Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life: their belly is filled from thy hidden stores. They are full of children: and they have left to their little ones the rest of their substance.
Psalms 16:15But as for me, I will appear before thy sight in justice: I shall be satisfied when thy glory shall appear.
