Psalms 20:1Unto the end. A psalm for David.<To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob;May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob protect thee;
Psalms 20:2In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly.May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion;Send you help from the sanctuary, Grant you support from Zion,May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
Psalms 20:3Thou hast given him his heart's desire: end hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.May he keep all your offerings in mind, and be pleased with the fat of your burned offerings; (Selah.)Remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt-sacrifice. Selah.Remember all thine oblations, and accept thy burnt-offering; Selah.
Psalms 20:4For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.May he give you your heart's desire, and put all your purposes into effect.May He grant you your heart's desire, And fulfill all your counsel.Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfil all thy counsels.
Psalms 20:5He asked life of thee: and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.We will be glad in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will put up our flags: may the Lord give you all your requests.We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God we will set up our banners: Yahweh fulfill all your petitions.We will triumph in thy salvation, and in the name of our God will we set up our banners. Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions!
Psalms 20:6His glory is great in thy salvation: glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him.Now am I certain that the Lord gives salvation to his king; he will give him an answer from his holy heaven with the strength of salvation in his right hand.Now I know that Yahweh saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, With the saving strength of his right hand.Now know I that Jehovah saveth his anointed; he answereth him from the heavens of his holiness, with the saving strength of his right hand.
Psalms 20:7For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.Some put their faith in carriages and some in horses; but we will be strong in the name of the Lord our God.Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, But we trust the name of Yahweh our God.Some make mention of chariots, and some of horses, but we of the name of Jehovah our God.
Psalms 20:8For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.They are bent down and made low; but we have been lifted up.They are bowed down and fallen, But we rise up, and stand upright.They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright.
Psalms 20:9Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.Come to our help, Lord: let the king give ear to our cry.Save, Yahweh; Let the King answer us when we call! Psalm 21 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.Save, Jehovah! Let the king answer us in the day we call.
Psalms 20:10Thou shalt make them as an oven of fire, in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them.
Psalms 20:11Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth: and their seed from among the children of men.
Psalms 20:12For they have intended evils against thee: they have devised counsels which they have not been able to establish.
Psalms 20:13For thou shalt make them turn their back: in thy remnants thou shalt prepare their face.
Psalms 20:14Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy own strength: we will sing and praise thy power.
