Psalms 50:1Unto the end, a psalm of David,<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> The God of gods, even the Lord, has sent out his voice, and the earth is full of fear; from the coming up of the sun to its going down.The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, And calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.{A Psalm. Of Asaph.} ùGod, Elohim-Jehovah, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
Psalms 50:2when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bethsabee.From Zion, most beautiful of places, God has sent out his light.Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
Psalms 50:3Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity.Our God will come, and will not keep quiet; with fire burning before him, and storm-winds round him.Our God comes, and does not keep silence. A fire devours before him. It is very tempestuous around him.Our God will come, and will not keep silence: fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
Psalms 50:4Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.His voice will go out to the heavens and to the earth, for the judging of his people:He calls to the heavens above, To the earth, that he may judge his people:He will call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
Psalms 50:5For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me.Let my saints come together to me; those who have made an agreement with me by offerings."Gather my saints together to me, Those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."Gather unto me my godly ones, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice!
Psalms 50:6To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged.And let the heavens make clear his righteousness; for God himself is the judge. (Selah.)The heavens shall declare his righteousness, For God himself is judge. Selah.And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God executeth judgment himself. Selah.
Psalms 50:7For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me.Give ear, O my people, to my words; O Israel, I will be a witness against you; I am God, even your God."Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God.Hear, my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, thy God.
Psalms 50:8For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me.I will not take up a cause against you because of your offerings, or because of your burned offerings, which are ever before me.I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt-offerings, continually before me;
Psalms 50:9Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.I will take no ox out of your house, or he-goats from your flocks;I have no need for a bull from your stall, Nor male goats from your pens.I will take no bullock out of thy house, [nor] he-goats out of thy folds:
Psalms 50:10To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.For every beast of the woodland is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.For every animal of the forest is mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle upon a thousand hills;
Psalms 50:11Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.I see all the birds of the mountains, and the beasts of the field are mine.I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.I know all the fowl of the mountains, and the roaming creatures of the field are mine:
Psalms 50:12Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels.If I had need of food, I would not give you word of it; for the earth is mine and all its wealth.If I were hungry, I would not tell you, For the world is mine, and all that is in it.If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
Psalms 50:13Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me.Am I to take the flesh of the ox for my food, or the blood of goats for my drink?Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?Should I eat the flesh of bulls, and drink the blood of goats?
Psalms 50:14Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.Make an offering of praise to God; keep the agreements which you have made with the Most High;Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.Offer unto God thanksgiving, and perform thy vows unto the Most High;
Psalms 50:15I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.Let your voice come up to me in the day of trouble; I will be your saviour, so that you may give glory to me.Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Psalms 50:16Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice.But to the sinner, God says, What are you doing, talking of my laws, or taking the words of my agreement in your mouth?But to the wicked God says, "What right do you have to declare my statutes, That you have taken my covenant on your lips,But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant into thy mouth,
Psalms 50:17O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.Seeing that you have no desire for my teaching, turning your back on my words.Seeing you hate instruction, And throw my words behind you?Seeing thou hast hated correction and hast cast my words behind thee?
Psalms 50:18For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.When you saw a thief, you were in agreement with him, and you were joined with those who took other men's wives.When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have participated with adulterers.When thou sawest a thief, thou didst take pleasure in him, and thy portion was with adulterers;
Psalms 50:19A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.You have given your mouth to evil, your tongue to words of deceit."You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue harnesses deceit.Thou lettest thy mouth loose to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit;
Psalms 50:20Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up.You say evil of your brother; you make false statements against your mother's son.You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother's son.Thou sittest [and] speakest against thy brother, thou revilest thine own mother's son:
Psalms 50:21Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.These things have you done, and I said nothing; it seemed to you that I was such a one as yourself; but I will make a protest against you, and put them in order before your eyes.You have done these things, and I kept silence. You thought that the "I AM" was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
