Psalms 83:1Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core.<A Song. A Psalm. Of Asaph.> O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God.God, don't keep silent. Psalms 83:2How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of host!For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads.For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.For behold, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate thee lift up the head.
Psalms 83:3my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God.They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place.They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult against thy hidden ones:
Psalms 83:4For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God.They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory."Come," they say, "and let us destroy them as a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more."They say, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, and let the name of Israel be mentioned no more.
Psalms 83:5Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.For they have consulted together with one heart: they have made an alliance together against thee.
Psalms 83:6Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps,The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites;The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites;
Psalms 83:7in the vale of tears, in the place which be hath set.Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia, with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Psalms 83:8For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.Asshur also is joined with them: they are an arm to the sons of Lot. Selah.
Psalms 83:9O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob.Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:Do to them as you did to Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;Do unto them as to Midian; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the torrent of Kishon:
Psalms 83:10Behold, O God our protector: and look on the face of thy Christ.Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste.Who perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.Who were destroyed at Endor; they became as dung for the ground.
Psalms 83:11For better is one day in thy courts above thousands. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners.Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna:Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;Make their nobles as Oreb and as Zeeb; and all their chiefs as Zebah and as Zalmunna.
Psalms 83:12For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory.Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God.Who said, "Let us take possession Of God's pasturelands."For they have said, Let us take to ourselves God's dwelling-places in possession.
Psalms 83:13He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence : O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind.My God, make them like tumbleweed; Like chaff before the wind.O my God, make them like a whirling thing, like stubble before the wind.
