| Psalms 85:1 | A prayer for David himself. Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor. | <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of the sons of Korah.> Lord, you were good to your land: changing the fate of Jacob. | Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land. You have restored the fortunes of Jacob. | {To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} Thou hast been favourable, Jehovah, unto thy land; thou hast turned the captivity of Jacob: |
| Psalms 85:2 | Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee. | The wrongdoing of your people had forgiveness; all their sin had been covered. (Selah.) | You have forgiven the iniquity of your people. You have covered all their sin. Selah. | Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people; thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. |
| Psalms 85:3 | Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day. | You were no longer angry: you were turned from the heat of your wrath. | You have taken away all your wrath. You have turned from the fierceness of your anger. | Thou hast withdrawn all thy wrath; thou hast turned from the fierceness of thine anger. |
| Psalms 85:4 | Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul. | Come back to us, O God of our salvation, and be angry with us no longer. | Turn us, God of our salvation, And cause your indignation toward us to cease. | Bring us back, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease. |
| Psalms 85:5 | For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee. | Will you go on being angry with us for ever? will you keep your wrath against us through all the long generations? | Will you be angry with us forever? Will you draw out your anger to all generations? | Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger from generation to generation? |
| Psalms 85:6 | Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition. | Will you not give us life again, so that your people may be glad in you? | Won't you revive us again, That your people may rejoice in you? | Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee? |
| Psalms 85:7 | I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me. | Let us see your mercy, O Lord, and give us your salvation. | Show us your lovingkindness, Yahweh. Grant us your salvation. | Shew us thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, and grant us thy salvation. |
| Psalms 85:8 | There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works. | I will give ear to the voice of the Lord; for he will say words of peace to his people and to his saints; but let them not go back to their foolish ways. | I will hear what God, Yahweh, will speak, For he will speak peace to his people, his saints; But let them not turn again to folly. | I will hear what ùGod, Jehovah, will speak; for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his godly ones: but let them not turn again to folly. |
| Psalms 85:9 | All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name. | Truly, his salvation is near to his worshippers; so that glory may be in our land. | Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, That glory may dwell in our land. | Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. |
| Psalms 85:10 | For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone. | Mercy and faith have come together; righteousness and peace have given one another a kiss. | Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. | Loving-kindness and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other: |
| Psalms 85:11 | Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name. | Faith comes up from the earth like a plant; righteousness is looking down from heaven. | Truth springs out of the earth. Righteousness has looked down from heaven. | Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens. |
| Psalms 85:12 | I will praise thee, O Lord my God: with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever: | The Lord will give what is good; and our land will give its increase. | Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase. | Jehovah also will give what is good, and our land shall yield its increase. |
| Psalms 85:13 | For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell. | Righteousness will go before him, making a way for his footsteps. | Righteousness goes before him, And prepares the way for his steps.
