Psalms 32:1A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.{Of David. Instruction.} Blessed is he [whose] transgression is forgiven, [whose] sin is covered!<Of David. Maschil.> Happy is he who has forgiveness for his wrongdoing, and whose sin is covered.A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psalms 32:2Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah reckoneth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile!Happy is the man in whom the Lord sees no evil, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Psalms 32:3Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.When I kept silence, my bones waxed old, through my groaning all the day long.When I kept my mouth shut, my bones were wasted, because of my crying all through the day.When I kept silence, my bones became old through my roaring all the day long.
Psalms 32:4For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.For the weight of your hand was on me day and night; my body became dry like the earth in summer. (Selah.)For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drouth of summer. Selah.
Psalms 32:5He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity I covered not; I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah, and *thou* forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.I made my wrongdoing clear to you, and did not keep back my sin. I said, I will put it all before the Lord; and you took away my wrongdoing and my sin. (Selah.)I acknowledged my sin to thee, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Psalms 32:6By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee at a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they will not reach him.For this cause let every saint make his prayer to you at a time when you are near: then the overflowing of the great waters will not overtake him.For this shall every one that is godly pray to thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh to him.
Psalms 32:7Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.Thou art a hiding-place for me; thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with songs of deliverance. Selah.You are my safe and secret place; you will keep me from trouble; you will put songs of salvation on the lips of those who are round me. (Selah.)Thou art my hiding place; thou wilt preserve me from trouble; thou wilt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psalms 32:8Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.I will instruct thee and teach thee the way in which thou shalt go; I will counsel [thee] with mine eye upon thee.I will give you knowledge, teaching you the way to go; my eye will be your guide.I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with my eye.
Psalms 32:9For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.Be ye not as a horse, as a mule, which have no understanding: whose trappings must be bit and bridle, for restraint, or they will not come unto thee.Do not be like the horse or the ass, without sense; ...Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to thee.
Psalms 32:10The Lord bringeth to naught the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.Many sorrows hath the wicked; but he that confideth in Jehovah, loving-kindness shall encompass him.The sinner will be full of trouble; but mercy will be round the man who has faith in the Lord.Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall encompass him.
Psalms 32:11But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.Rejoice in Jehovah, and be glad, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye upright in heart.Be glad in the Lord with joy, you upright men; give cries of joy, all you whose hearts are true.Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
Psalms 32:12Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.
Psalms 32:13The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.
Psalms 32:14From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.
Psalms 32:15He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.
Psalms 32:16The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.
Psalms 32:17Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.
Psalms 32:18Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.
Psalms 32:19To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.
Psalms 32:20Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.
Psalms 32:21For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.
Psalms 32:22Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee.
