| Psalms 74:1 | Unto the end, corrupt not, a psalm of a canticle for Asaph. | {An instruction: of Asaph.} Why, O God, hast thou cast off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? | God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture? | Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thy anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? |
| Psalms 74:2 | We will praise thee, O God: we will praise, and we will call upon thy name. We will relate thy wondrous works: | Remember thine assembly, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed [to be] the portion of thine inheritance, this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. | Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, Which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance; Mount Zion, in which you have lived. | Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old: the rod of thy inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt. |
| Psalms 74:3 | when I shall take a time, I will judge justices. | Lift up thy steps unto the perpetual desolations: everything in the sanctuary hath the enemy destroyed. | Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, All the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary. | Lift up thy feet to the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. |
| Psalms 74:4 | The earth is melted, and all that dwell therein: I have established the pillars thereof. | Thine adversaries roar in the midst of thy place of assembly; they set up their signs [for] signs. | Your adversaries have roared in the midst of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs. | Thy enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. |
| Psalms 74:5 | I said to the wicked: Do not act wickedly: and to the sinners: Lift not up the horn. | [A man] was known as he could lift up axes in the thicket of trees; | They behaved like men wielding axes, Cutting through a thicket of trees. | A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. |
| Psalms 74:6 | Lift not up your horn on high: speak not iniquity against God. | And now they break down its carved work altogether, with hatchets and hammers. | Now all its carved work They break down with hatchet and hammers. | But now they break down the carved work of it at once with axes and hammers. |
| Psalms 74:7 | For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert hills: | They have set on fire thy sanctuary, they have profaned the habitation of thy name to the ground. | They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling-place of your Name. | They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling-place of thy name to the ground. |
| Psalms 74:8 | for God is the judge. One he putteth down, and another he lifteth up: | They said in their heart, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all ùGod's places of assembly in the land. | They said in their heart, "We will crush them completely." They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshipped. | They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. |
| Psalms 74:9 | for in the hand of the Lord there is a cup of strong wine full of mixture. And he hath poured it out from this to that: but the dregs thereof are not emptied: all the sinners of the earth shall drink. | We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet, neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. | We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, Neither is there among us anyone who knows how long. | We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. |
| Psalms 74:10 | But I will declare for ever: I will sing to the God of Jacob. | How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy contemn thy name for ever? | How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever? | O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever? |
| Psalms 74:11 | And I will break all the horns of sinners: but the horns of the just shall be exalted. | Why withdrawest thou thy hand, and thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom: consume [them]. | Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it out of your pocket and consume them! | Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom. |
