Psalms 81:1A psalm for Asaph. God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods.Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.Sing aloud to God, our strength! Make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob!To the Overseer. `On the Gittith.` By Asaph. Cry aloud to God our strength, Shout to the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:2How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked?Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, The pleasant lyre with the harp.Lift up a song, and give out a timbrel, A pleasant harp with psaltery.
Psalms 81:3Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, At the full moon, on our feast day.Blow in the month a trumpet, In the new moon, at the day of our festival,
Psalms 81:4Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob.For a statute to Israel it [is], An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Psalms 81:5They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, When he went out over the land of Egypt, I heard a language that I didn't know.A testimony on Joseph He hath placed it, In his going forth over the land of Egypt. A lip, I have not known I hear.
Psalms 81:6I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots."I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.From the burden his shoulder I turned aside, His hands from the basket pass over.
Psalms 81:7But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes.Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah." Selah.In distress thou hast called and I deliver thee, I answer thee in the secret place of thunder, I try thee by the waters of Meribah. Selah.
