Psalms 52:1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The lovingkindness of God [endureth] continually. <To the chief music-maker. Maschil. Of David. When Doeg the Edomite came to Saul saying, David has come to the house of Ahimelech.> Why do you take pride in wrongdoing, lifting yourself up against the upright man all the day?To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
Psalms 52:2Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Purposing destruction, using deceit; your tongue is like a sharp blade.Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Psalms 52:3Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Psalms 52:5God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah But God will put an end to you for ever; driving you out from your tent, uprooting you from the land of the living. Psalms 52:8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever. But I am like a branching olive-tree in the house of God; I have put my faith in his mercy for ever and ever.But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Psalms 52:9I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
