Psalms 21:1The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!The king shall joy in thy strength, O Jehovah; And in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! <To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.> The king will be glad in your strength, O Lord; how great will be his delight in your salvation!
Psalms 21:2Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.Thou hast given him his heart's desire, And hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah You have given him his heart's desire, and have not kept back the request of his lips. (Selah.)
Psalms 21:3For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.For thou meetest him with the blessings of goodness: Thou settest a crown of fine gold on his head. For you go before him with the blessings of good things: you put a crown of fair gold on his head.
Psalms 21:4He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.He asked life of thee, thou gavest it him, Even length of days for ever and ever. He made request to you for life, and you gave it to him, long life for ever and ever.
Psalms 21:5His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.His glory is great in thy salvation: Honor and majesty dost thou lay upon him. His glory is great in your salvation: honour and authority have you put on him.
Psalms 21:6For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.For thou makest him most blessed for ever: Thou makest him glad with joy in thy presence. For you have made him a blessing for ever: you have given him joy in the light of your face.
Psalms 21:7For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.For the king trusteth in Jehovah; And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he shall not be moved. For the king has faith in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he will not be moved.
Psalms 21:8Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.Thy hand will find out all thine enemies; Thy right hand will find out those that hate thee. Your hand will make a search for all your haters; your right hand will be hard on all those who are against you.
Psalms 21:9Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.Thou wilt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger: Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath, And the fire shall devour them. You will make them like a flaming oven before you; the Lord in his wrath will put an end to them, and they will be burned up in the fire.
Psalms 21:10Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.Their fruit wilt thou destroy from the earth, And their seed from among the children of men. Their fruit will be cut off from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
Psalms 21:11For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.For they intended evil against thee; They conceived a device which they are not able to perform. For their thoughts were bitter against you: they had an evil design in their minds, which they were not able to put into effect.
Psalms 21:12Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.For thou wilt make them turn their back; Thou wilt make ready with thy bowstrings against their face. Their backs will be turned when you make ready the cords of your bow against their faces.
Psalms 21:13Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.Be thou exalted, O Jehovah, in thy strength: So will we sing and praise thy power. Psalm 22 For the Chief Musician; set to Aijaleth hash-Shahar. A Psalm of David. Be lifted up, O Lord, in your strength; so will we make songs in praise of your power.
