| Job 6:1 | But Job answered and said, | Then Job answered and said, | And Job made answer and said, | And Job answereth and saith: |
| Job 6:2 | Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together! | Oh that my vexation were but weighed, And all my calamity laid in the balances! | If only my passion might be measured, and put into the scales against my trouble! | O that my provocation were thoroughly weighed, And my calamity in balances They would lift up together! |
| Job 6:3 | For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up. | For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas: Therefore have my words been rash. | For then its weight would be more than the sand of the seas: because of this my words have been uncontrolled. | For now, than the sands of the sea it is heavier, Therefore my words have been rash. |
| Job 6:4 | For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. | For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, The poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: The terrors of God do set themselves in array against me. | For the arrows of the Ruler of all are present with me, and their poison goes deep into my spirit: his army of fears is put in order against me. | For arrows of the Mighty [are] with me, Whose poison is drinking up my spirit. Terrors of God array themselves [for] me! |
| Job 6:5 | Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder? | Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? Or loweth the ox over his fodder? | Does the ass of the fields give out his voice when he has grass? or does the ox make sounds over his food? | Brayeth a wild ass over tender grass? Loweth an ox over his provender? |
| Job 6:6 | Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg? | Can that which hath no savor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg? | Will a man take food which has no taste without salt? or is there any taste in the soft substance of purslain? | Eaten is an insipid thing without salt? Is there sense in the drivel of dreams? |
| Job 6:7 | The things that my soul refused to touch are as my sorrowful meat. | My soul refuseth to touch [them]; They are as loathsome food to me. | My soul has no desire for such things, they are as disease in my food. | My soul is refusing to touch! They [are] as my sickening food. |
| Job 6:8 | Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for! | Oh that I might have my request; And that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for! | If only I might have an answer to my prayer, and God would give me my desire! | O that my request may come, That God may grant my hope! |
| Job 6:9 | Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! | Even that it would please God to crush me; That he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! | If only he would be pleased to put an end to me; and would let loose his hand, so that I might be cut off! | That God would please and bruise me, Loose His hand and cut me off! |
| Job 6:10 | Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One. | And be it still my consolation, Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One. | So I would still have comfort, and I would have joy in the pains of death, for I have not been false to the words of the Holy One. | And yet it is my comfort, (And I exult in pain He doth not spare,) That I have not hidden The sayings of the Holy One. |
| Job 6:11 | What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life? | What is my strength, that I should wait? And what is mine end, that I should be patient? | Have I strength to go on waiting, or have I any end to be looking forward to? | What [is] my power that I should hope? And what mine end That I should prolong my life? |
| Job 6:12 | Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass? | Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of brass? | Is my strength the strength of stones, or is my flesh brass? | Is my strength the strength of stones? Is my flesh brazen? |
| Job 6:13 | Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me? | Is it not that I have no help in me, And that wisdom is driven quite from me? | I have no help in myself, and wisdom is completely gone from me. | Is not my help with me, And substance driven from me? |
| Job 6:14 | To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. | To him that is ready to faint kindness [should be showed] from his friend; Even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. | He whose heart is shut against his friend has given up the fear of the Ruler of all. | To a despiser of his friends [is] shame, And the fear of the Mighty he forsaketh. |
| Job 6:15 | My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away; | My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, As the channel of brooks that pass away; | My friends have been false like a stream, like streams in the valleys which come to an end: | My brethren have deceived as a brook, As a stream of brooks they pass away. |
| Job 6:16 | Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid: | Which are black by reason of the ice, [And] wherein the snow hideth itself: | Which are dark because of the ice, and the snow falling into them; | That are black because of ice, By them doth snow hide itself. |
| Job 6:17 | What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. | What time they wax warm, they vanish; When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. | Under the burning sun they are cut off, and come to nothing because of the heat. | By the time they are warm they have been cut off, By its being hot they have been Extinguished from their place. |
| Job 6:18 | The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish. | The caravans [that travel] by the way of them turn aside; They go up into the waste, and perish. | The camel-trains go out of their way; they go up into the waste and come to destruction. | Turn aside do the paths of their way, They ascend into emptiness, and are lost. |
| Job 6:19 | The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them. | The caravans of Tema looked, The companies of Sheba waited for them. | The camel-trains of Tema were searching with care, the bands of Sheba were waiting for them: | Passengers of Tema looked expectingly, Travellers of Sheba hoped for them. |

| Job 6:21 | For now ye are nothing; ye see my casting down, and are afraid. | For now ye are nothing; Ye see a terror, and are afraid. | So have you now become to me; you see my sad condition and are in fear. | Surely now ye have become the same! Ye see a downfall, and are afraid. |

Or, Offer a present for me of your substance? | Did I say, Give me something? or, Make a payment for me out of your wealth? | Is it because I said, Give to me? And, By your power bribe for me? |
| Job 6:23 | Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty? | Or, Deliver me from the adversary's hand? Or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors? | Or, Get me out of the power of my hater? or, Give money so that I may be free from the power of the cruel ones? | And, Deliver me from the hand of an adversary? And, From the hand of terrible ones ransom me? |
| Job 6:24 | Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred. | Teach me, and I will hold my peace; And cause me to understand wherein I have erred. | Give me teaching and I will be quiet; and make me see my error. | Shew me, and I I keep silent, And what I have erred, let me understand. |
| Job 6:25 | How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove? | How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what doth it reprove? | How pleasing are upright words! but what force is there in your arguments? | How powerful have been upright sayings, And what doth reproof from you reprove? |
| Job 6:26 | Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, which are as wind? | Do ye think to reprove words, Seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind? | My words may seem wrong to you, but the words of him who has no hope are for the wind. | For reproof do you reckon words? And for wind sayings of the desperate. |
| Job 6:27 | Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig a pit for your friend. | Yea, ye would cast [lots] upon the fatherless, And make merchandise of your friend. | Truly, you are such as would give up the child of a dead man to his creditors, and would make a profit out of your friend. | Anger on the fatherless ye cause to fall, And are strange to your friend. |
| Job 6:28 | Now therefore be content, look upon me; for it is evident unto you if I lie. | Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; For surely I shall not lie to your face. | Now then, let your eyes be turned to me, for truly I will not say what is false to your face. | And, now, please, look upon me, Even to your face do I lie? |
| Job 6:29 | Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness is in it. | Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; Yea, return again, my cause is righteous. | Let your minds be changed, and do not have an evil opinion of me; yes, be changed, for my righteousness is still in me. | Turn back, I pray you, let it not be perverseness, Yea, turn back again my righteousness [is] in it. |
| Job 6:30 | Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things? | Is there injustice on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern mischievous things? | Is there evil in my tongue? is not the cause of my trouble clear to me? | Is there in my tongue perverseness? Discerneth not my palate desirable things? |
