Unto the end, a psalm of David,<A Psalm. Of Asaph.> The God of gods, even the Lord, has sent out his voice, and the earth is full of fear; from the coming up of the sun to its going down.
Psalms 50:2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth. when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had sinned with Bethsabee.From Zion, most beautiful of places, God has sent out his light.
Psalms 50:3Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.Our God cometh, and doth not keep silence: A fire devoureth before him, And it is very tempestuous round about him. Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity.Our God will come, and will not keep quiet; with fire burning before him, and storm-winds round him.
Psalms 50:4He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.He calleth to the heavens above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people: Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.His voice will go out to the heavens and to the earth, for the judging of his people:
Psalms 50:5Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Gather my saints together unto me, Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me.Let my saints come together to me; those who have made an agreement with me by offerings.
Psalms 50:6And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; For God is judge himself. Selah To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged.And let the heavens make clear his righteousness; for God himself is the judge. (Selah.)
Psalms 50:7Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, [even] thy God. For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me.Give ear, O my people, to my words; O Israel, I will be a witness against you; I am God, even your God.
Psalms 50:8I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me. I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; And thy burnt-offerings are continually before me. For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me.I will not take up a cause against you because of your offerings, or because of your burned offerings, which are ever before me.
Psalms 50:9I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.I will take no ox out of your house, or he-goats from your flocks;
Psalms 50:10For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills. To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.For every beast of the woodland is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
Psalms 50:11I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.I know all the birds of the mountains; And the wild beasts of the field are mine. Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.I see all the birds of the mountains, and the beasts of the field are mine.
Psalms 50:12If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels.If I had need of food, I would not give you word of it; for the earth is mine and all its wealth.
Psalms 50:13Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats? Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me.Am I to take the flesh of the ox for my food, or the blood of goats for my drink?
Psalms 50:14Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High: Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me with a perfect spirit.Make an offering of praise to God; keep the agreements which you have made with the Most High;
Psalms 50:15And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to thee.Let your voice come up to me in the day of trouble; I will be your saviour, so that you may give glory to me.
Psalms 50:16But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth, Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall extol thy justice.But to the sinner, God says, What are you doing, talking of my laws, or taking the words of my agreement in your mouth?
Psalms 50:17Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.Seeing thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee? O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.Seeing that you have no desire for my teaching, turning your back on my words.
Psalms 50:18When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers. For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.When you saw a thief, you were in agreement with him, and you were joined with those who took other men's wives.
Psalms 50:19Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit. A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.You have given your mouth to evil, your tongue to words of deceit.
Psalms 50:20Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother's son. Psalms 50:21These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: [But] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes. Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.These things have you done, and I said nothing; it seemed to you that I was such a one as yourself; but I will make a protest against you, and put them in order before your eyes.
Psalms 50:22Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver: Now keep this in mind, you who have no memory of God, for fear that you may be crushed under my hand, with no one to give you help:
Psalms 50:23Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his way [aright] Will I show the salvation of God. Psalm 51 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Whoever makes an offering of praise gives glory to me; and to him who is upright in his ways I will make clear the salvation of God.
