Job 38:1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Then the Lord answered Job out of a whirlwind, and said :And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith:
Job 38:2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge? Who is this that wrappeth up sentences in unskillful words?Who [is] this darkening counsel, By words without knowledge?
Job 38:3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Gird up thy loins like a man : I will ask thee, and answer thou me.Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, And I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.
Job 38:4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Where wast thou when I laid up the foundations of the earth ? tell me if thou hast understanding.Where wast thou when I founded earth? Declare, if thou hast known understanding.
Job 38:5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it? Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?Who placed its measures if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched out upon it a line?
Job 38:6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof, Upon what are its bases grounded? or who laid the corner stone thereof,On what have its sockets been sunk? Or who hath cast its corner-stone?
Job 38:7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? When the morning stars praised me together, and all the sons of God made a joyful melody?In the singing together of stars of morning, And all sons of God shout for joy,
Job 38:8Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb; Who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth as issuing out of the womb :And He shutteth up with doors the sea, In its coming forth, from the womb it goeth out.
Job 38:9When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,When I made clouds the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddling-band for it, when I made a cloud the garment thereof, and wrapped it in a mist as in swaddling bands?In My making a cloud its clothing, And thick darkness its swaddling band,
Job 38:10And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors, I set my bounds around it, and made it bars and doors :And I measure over it My statute, And place bar and doors,
Job 38:11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed? And I said : Hitherto thou shalt come, and shalt go no further, and here thou shalt break thy swelling waves.And say, `Hitherto come thou, and add not, And a command is placed On the pride of thy billows.`
Job 38:12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days [began], [And] caused the dayspring to know its place; Didst thou since thy birth command the morning, and shew the dawning of the day its place?Hast thou commanded morning since thy days? Causest thou the dawn to know its place?
Job 38:13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? And didst thou hold the extremities of the earth shaking them, and hast thou shaken the ungodly out of it?To take hold on the skirts of the earth, And the wicked are shaken out of it,
Job 38:14It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment. It is changed as clay under the seal; And [all things] stand forth as a garment: The seal shall be restored as clay, and shall stand as a garment :It turneth itself as clay of a seal And they station themselves as clothed.
Job 38:15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken. And from the wicked their light is withholden, And the high arm is broken. From the wicked their light shall be taken away, and the high arm shall be broken.And withheld from the wicked is their light, And the arm lifted up is broken.
Job 38:16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep? Hast thou entered into the depths of the sea, and walked in the lowest parts of the deep?Hast thou come in to springs of the sea? And in searching the deep Hast thou walked up and down?
Job 38:17Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? Or hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death? Have the gates of death been opened to thee, and hast thou seen the darksome doors?Revealed to thee were the gates of death? And the gates of death-shade dost thou see?
Job 38:18Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.Hast thou comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if thou knowest it all. Hast thou considered the breadth of the earth? tell me, if thou knowest all things?Thou hast understanding, Even unto the broad places of earth! Declare if thou hast known it all.
Job 38:19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is the place thereof, Where is the way where light dwelleth, and where is the place of darkness :Where [is] this the way light dwelleth? And darkness, where [is] this its place?
Job 38:20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, And that thou shouldest discern the paths to the house thereof? That thou mayst bring every thing to its own bounds, and understand the paths of the house thereof.That thou dost take it unto its boundary, And that thou dost understand The paths of its house.
Job 38:21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?[Doubtless], thou knowest, for thou wast then born, And the number of thy days is great! Didst thou know then that thou shouldst be born ? and didst thou know the number of thy days?Thou hast known for then thou art born And the number of thy days [are] many!
Job 38:22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, Or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, Hast thou entered into the storehouses of the snow, or has thou beheld the treasures of the hail :Hast thou come in unto the treasure of snow? Yea, the treasures of hail dost thou see?
Job 38:23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, Against the day of battle and war? Which I have prepared for the time of the enemy, against the day of battle and war?That I have kept back for a time of distress, For a day of conflict and battle.
Job 38:24By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?By what way is the light parted, Or the east wind scattered upon the earth? By what way is the light spread, and heat divided upon the earth?Where [is] this, the way light is apportioned? It scattereth an east wind over the earth.
Job 38:25Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or the way for the lightning of the thunder; Who gave a course to violent showers, or a way for noisy thunder :Who hath divided for the flood a conduit? And a way for the lightning of the voices?
Job 38:26To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, wherein there is no man; That it should rain on the earth without man in the wilderness, where no mortal dwelleth :To cause [it] to rain on a land no man, A wilderness no man in it.
Job 38:27To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?To satisfy the waste and desolate [ground], And to cause the tender grass to spring forth? That it should fill the desert and desolate land, and should bring forth green grass?To satisfy a desolate and waste place, And to cause to shoot up The produce of the tender grass?
Job 38:28Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew? Who is the father of rain ? or who begot the drops of dew?Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
Job 38:29Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?Out of whose womb came the ice? And the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? Out of whose womb came the ice; and the frost from heaven who hath gendered it?From whose belly came forth the ice? And the hoar-frost of the heavens, Who hath begotten it?
Job 38:30The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.The waters hide themselves [and become] like stone, And the face of the deep is frozen. The waters are hardened like a stone, and the surface of the deep is congealed.As a stone waters are hidden, And the face of the deep is captured.
Job 38:31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?Canst thou bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the bands of Orion? Shalt thou be able to join together the shining stars the Pleiades, or canst thou stop the turning about of Arcturus?Dost thou bind sweet influences of Kimah? Or the attractions of Kesil dost thou open?
Job 38:32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?Canst thou lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or canst thou guide the Bear with her train? Canst thou bring forth the day star in its time, and make the evening star to rise upon the children of the earth?Dost thou bring out Mazzaroth in its season? And Aysh for her sons dost thou comfort?
Job 38:33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth? Dost thou know the order of heaven, and canst thou set down the reason thereof on the earth?Hast thou known the statutes of heaven? Or dost thou appoint Its dominion in the earth?
Job 38:34Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover thee? Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that an abundance of waters may cover thee?Dost thou lift up to the cloud thy voice, And abundance of water doth cover thee?
Job 38:35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are? Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, And say unto thee, Here we are? Canst thou send lightnings, and will they go, and will they return and say to thee : Here we are?Dost thou send out lightnings, and they go And say unto thee, `Behold us?`
Job 38:36Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who hath given understanding to the mind? Who hath put wisdom in the heart of man? or who gave the cock understanding?Who hath put in the inward parts wisdom? Or who hath given To the covered part understanding?
Job 38:37Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven, Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven, Who can declare the order of the heavens, or who can make the harmony of heaven to sleep?Who doth number the clouds by wisdom? And the bottles of the heavens, Who doth cause to lie down,
Job 38:38When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together? When the dust runneth into a mass, And the clods cleave fast together? When was the dust poured on the earth, and the clods fastened together?In the hardening of dust into hardness, And clods cleave together?
Job 38:39Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, Wilt thou take the prey for the lioness, and satisfy the appetite of her whelps,Dost thou hunt for a lion prey? And the desire of young lions fulfil?
Job 38:40When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?When they couch in their dens, [And] abide in the covert to lie in wait? When they couch in the dens and lie in wait in holes?When they bow down in dens Abide in a thicket for a covert?
Job 38:41Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.Who provideth for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry unto God, [And] wander for lack of food? Who provideth food for the raven, when her young ones cry to God, wandering about, because they have no meat?Who doth prepare for a raven his provision, When his young ones cry unto God? They wander without food.
